Yeah don't I fucking know it, all of those games thanks to Steam sales cost me less than 5$ each so only 70$ for games I might play some day. Lucky I don't have any @#$@#$ money right now. Wait no... very unlucky I don't have any money or I'd have picked up Black Ops, Orcs must die and maybe DNF.

My pick of the day:
Renegade Ops 4 pack for $20.

Maybe:
Orcs Must Die for not much at all, but I'm still yet to play my copy of Sanctum.
Test Drive Unlimited 2 for $5 except I'm playing Dirt3.

Hmm. This Men of War combo pack looks interesting, and it's 75% off. Has anyone played this series before?

Do you like tactical RTS with inventory management and near impossible scenarios?

erm. how impossible are we talking here? I'm ok-ish at RTS', but I hate having to replay a level fifty times over in order to win.

I didn't have a problem with Assault Squad. I remember being a bit frustrated with the original. Assault Squad seems to have a saner level of difficulty, though. I think the basic formula of the scenarios took me a few tries to get the hang off, and after that it was kind of disappointing how similar they were to one another. The wave-attack defense DLC scenarios were pretty cool, though.

Here are two riflemen comrade. There is a Panzergrenadier Kompanie holding this village. Run along and take it back now. Oh? You'd like some ammunition or anti-tank weapons? I'm sure there's some in there, you'll have to disable the half track carrying it all first however...

Oh goody... another Steam sale that's going to shrink my wallet even more.

Just tried to buy Orcs Must Die! but I really had trouble with that.
The cart emptied itself in both the Steam client as well as Firefox!

I Could barely browse to page 3 of the 1500+ deals they have before the cart was empty again! :banghead:

Does anyone else have that problem too?

Wait. Seriously?

How many times did you have to replay the average scenario on the easiest difficulty?

Men of War isn't about the scenarios. It's a game that should be played on multiplayer.

That said the first Men of War's missions were ridiculous. It took me about 8 tries to pass the first US mission, but once I did I didn't lose a single man. It's an extremely unforgiving micro-oriented game. If that sounds fun you'll have a blast, otherwise I'd stay away.

As for the rest of the sale nothing looked good really. Already own ME and ME2.

From today's deals do yourself a favour and buy Mass Effect 1 & 2 if you don't have them yet.

I don't know if I'll buy Portal 2 or if I should wait for the Christmas offer hoping it will be even cheaper.

As for the rest of the games, do the smart thing and wait until the last day to see if they are featured in the daily deals. I'm hoping that Bad Company 2 will be featured so I can give it away to friends that haven't upgraded their PCs yet. I haven't had the opportunity to play it with a squad made only of friends.
I'm also waiting for Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood to be a daily deal and snatch it up.

What games are you eyeballing?

Waiting on Arkham City. (And for it to be released in my area).
Not much else, I don't have time for AC:R, and I've already bought all the Humble Indie bundles, and preordered the next Indie Royale bundle.
I await Steam to offer something I want :D (I've been cleaned out by the last few sales).
IS the US Black Friday This Friday/upcoming Weekend?

Men of War Assault Squad is worth every penny.

Nothing beats the feeling of crushing your opponent's hopes and dreams by plowing a fucking matilda through a building and scrapping that Panther he spent half the match saving for with a point blank shot at his engine.

Or, for that matter, running in front of an IS-2 with a panzer gren whom he neglected to spot and shoving a panzershrek down its throat.

Or calling down an artillery barrage on a frozen river when he's trying to cross it with a heavy armored convoy and watching his entire army sink into the Rhine.

Get Assault Squad. Play multiplayer. Receive awesome.

Has Empire/Napoleon Total War at least approached some modicum of playability yet? The entire TW pack (Empire/Napoleon/Rome/Medevial II and quite a lot of DLC) is available now for like $12.50 USD.

Would somebody be willing to help me out?
I want to buy Fallout: New Vegas, but here in Germany they only sell me "low violent version" (that's not the bad part) and the whole game only in GERMAN. I don't want to pay for that. So if somebody outside Germany wants to buy a game in the same price-range maybe I can buy it for them and then we could use the Steam-TRADE-system?

I don't even know if that would work, mangs; surely STEAM would have this blocked to keep from annoying the Germanoids?

Yeah, I think trades magically revert to the local version.

Best way to circumvent big brother, Wedge: Buy it from Amazon.co.uk in disc form. That always works.

(The Saboteur would have been unplayable for me with the censored German version so I feel your pain)

I think it would work. I already have had a friend from Spain gift me games in Steam that they weren't selling here and also gift me the international version of a game instead of the german one. I haven't tried it with the trade system yet, but nothing speaks against it.

BTW, I have an extra copy of Terraria en Bioshock 2.

New Vegas is part of the daily special. I'm thinking of getting it and all it's DLC.

Also Operation Flashpoint is on the daily. Any good?

Napoleon was never bad. In some ways it still is better than Shogun 2. With the Europe in Conflict mod it's a great game if you like the period of warfare it's based on.

Empire is sadly still suffering from the lack of development time it received. No matter what mods do they can't make it a great game. It desperately needed the retrofit patch they said they would put in when they made Napoleon but that was nowhere to be seen.

The Code Masters first OFP games, Dragon Rising just felt a little off. Hard to pin down exactly what, but for the prices their asking if might peeps Red River which was apparently a superior product.

*edit*

One thing that was way off was the PC controls which merged left stick and dpad into wasd which fucked up your tactical controls good and proper.

Yeah Dragon Rising = suck, Red River = good, is what I've heard too.

I've heard its 'better', which given how awful Dragon Rising was isn't saying much. It also includes dialogue with lines like 'This reminds me of the time Col. O'niell fought the replicators', so buy it at your peril.
