It's me again.
This time I'm trying to get an older dvd-rom to work. I'm pretty sure the disk itself isn't to blame(it works in other computers), and I can't find anything which is helpful.
What happens is that when I insert the disk, whatever reads the disk (I'm not a computer-savvy person) randomly spins, but stop after less than a second. My Computer tells me the disk doesn't exist.
Any advice?
ON a completely unrelated side-note, I'd like to get an RTS game, but I don't know which one. WHat would people recommend?

If other disks work in the drive, its just fucked. Image it somewhere else and move it via some other media.
And 'RTS' is a genre so huge as to be pretty useless. You'll have to talk about what sort of experience you want before anyone can make meaningful recommendations beyond 'here are a bunch of games I like'.
