I am looking for a computer/tablet that has

1 ) Comfortable physical keyboard that is either built in or can be attached.

2 ) Responsive multi touch display

3 ) Runs Win7 and will run Win 8 when it comes out with full support for the new touch based windows UI.

4 ) Powerful enough to run demanding tools like 3DS Max or Visual Studio 2010.

5 ) Costs below $ 1500.

Basically I do my game development work on a laptop currently. I however love the ergonomics of touchscreen. So I am looking for something comfortable to use like a tablet but also powerful enough to run software used at work and a real physical keyboard for coding.

Is there anything like what I want currently or do I have to wait a year or so ?

What you want is called a "convertible tablet". This one is guaranteed to work with windows 8.

Thanks Domius. That looks very much like what I was looking for. I shall be taking a closer look at this.

I doubt there's anything better than an X220T on the market right now but you might want to wait for Ivy Bridge if you can.
