problem with youtube

For some reason some videos when I try and stream won't do so properly. I can get audio with no problem, but I get a bright green screen for some of them. I can still watch the videos by downloading it and it plays fine with windows media player.

At first I thought this was a problem with Flash, but I use chrome as my browser and I got the latest Flash already, so its unlikely to be this problem.

Any one else have this problem? And more importantly how do you fix it?

I haven’t had that precise problem with YouTube but I had a similar issue with streaming media that was locking up chrome.... have you tried deleting your cache?

That seemed to clear it up for me.

Tried deleting the cache now. Hasn't worked. I don't think its purely the cache. For some reason these same videos won't stream properly either when I try Internet Explorer.

Hmmm since the problem carries from browser to browser that makes me think it might have been a problem with flash, I would uninstall and try updating again just to make sure. Since there is no problem with the downloaded videos it’s not a video driver issue, unless its problem is with flash only.

Do you have an issue with all videos on YouTube or just some of them? Also try another streaming service (Netflix/Hulu).

I have the same problem and it's with all videos but not all the time.

So you can hear audio but no picture just green?? Try turning off hardware acceleration. It worked for me.

Alternatively, it might be an issue with your video drivers. Check to see what version they're at, you might need to roll back to an older version or upgrade.

Haven't tried other streaming sites. Its not with all youtube videos either. Come to think of it, this problem only occurred after I upgraded to the latest version of Flash.

I am not sure I have this hardware acceleration feature.

Try right-clicking the video, then hitting settings and unchecking the box for hardware acceleration.

Just did that. It seems to work for one of them any way. When I have more time, I will check further.
