Should I buy Kinect for Steel Battlion Heavy Armour?

I am planning to buy Steel Battalion: Heavy Armour for Xbox 360 (assuming the ratings are good), a Steel Battalion game set in an alternate 1940-ish retro-future where you drive a walking tank fighting against a foreign power invading the US.
As part of its immersive gameplay, you require a Kinect controller in order to allow you to interact with the inside of the vehicle you are driving. I need to ask, how good is a Kinect controller compare to the Wii?

It depends on the game. The hardware mapping of movements is great, but the actions (and how distinguishable they are from each other) is down to what the game encourages you to do. For instance, in SW Kinect every different action you could take was a very distinct action so there were no real problems, but in other games where you have seven different left-arm gestures this is not the case at all.
For SB I can't see it being too bad, since it's just a variety of 'look around', 'grab periscope', 'punch man' etc. I haven't seen anything that you have to do during combat so you shouldn't have to switch all the time.

I've certainly had far less motion controller issues with my kinect than I've ever had with a wiimote, but like Stark says, it's dependent on the developer. From what I've seen, the motion controls in SB seem pretty distinct from each so there shouldn't be any of the problems with multiple barely distinguishable movements like that UFC game.

Well, the upshot of buying a Kinect is, unlike the OXBOX Steel Battalion controller, you can use it for a number of games.
