Iron Front

The game is out. For the uninitiated Iron Front is a mod turned game using the ArmA 2 engine. From what i've heard though it fixes a lot of the problems with ArmA 2 though like shitty animations and UI. I saw some design videos recently where I saw that they did some pretty heavy tune ups of the ArmA 2 engine including things like totally revamping the tank damage model. (HP is gone, damage is per-pixel now)

I don't have it myself but i'm willing to give it a spin if someone else tells me its better than ArmA 2 or at least fixes ArmA 2's glaring problems for half the price of that garbage milsim.

This part interests me. Can you tell more ? Is vehicle now like how you destroy structures in Red Faction ?

"Per-Pixel" damage modeling means that models take and compute damage based on specifically where they were hit. Not an arbitrary hit point value assigned to a whole area. It's not like geo mod or frostbite where you can excavate portions of a vehicle away with weapons and damage. It just means the damage model takes into account more details than "-10 hit points".

Oh. Being able to dynamically destroy parts of a vehicle would be cool but this is ok too I guess.
