The developers of the enhanced edition have announced the release date and prices today.

Why do iPad and Android user pay half the price of PC/Mac?!

Some information about the "enhanced" stuff can be found here though the information is still rather sparse. At least there are some screenshots now.

It's a direct download from Beamdog (uhh... never heard of them) for PC...

I already have the original Baldur's Gate and while I would like to have native support for modern plattforms and resolutions... I'll pass until the price for PC drops to at least $10 or less.

Gonna take a wild guess there and say they'll justify it with more expensive assets. Probably also a lot to do with expected pricing in each market. $20 is a bargain for pc, while only big names sell for even $10 on iOS and Android.

And those sell like shit compared to even just asking for $5. If they charged $20 I doubt they'd even make enough back to justify the ports.

You'd be better off waiting for some kind of Steam sale or something anyway. Even Squenix doesn't charge more than $15 for most of their 14 year old games.

So this is just a heavily modded version? I don't see why I should pay for slightly improved graphics and a little new content with all the mods that already exist. Maybe if they created a new engine with a 3D view, or wrote a version for the Aurora engine, it might be worth some money.

I've read through the information again and apparently only the PC/Mac version will have all bonus content included in the sale.

The iPad and Android version will have voice pack, avatar icons and two of the three new characters as in-app purchase. So the tablet/smartphone version will be around $19.99 too.
