Computer problem

Okay, lately (the last couple months or so) my computer has been having problems with its Internet. Namely, when I check the history its not there. As far as I know I haven't monkeyed around with the settings to make it do this (I haven't put it in private browsing or anything like that). What's odd is that it still registers 'Computer' things. Say I type a paper and save it...if you look in the history it will have 'Computer' and after clicking on that you get 'insert document name' (as in the name of the doc). Same thing with ST Online, as it shows the launcher in the history.

But for the life of me, I can't figure out why it shows that, but not the internet history. It's even weirder in that it goes through 'phases' for lack of a better term. Like it will go a week where it does register history, but then it will stop registering. I had gotten used to it, and I wasn't worried too much...but its been over a week since the last time it registered history, so now I'm starting to worry.

Any ideas as to why its doing this? And my computer is an HP 2000-428DX (at least that's what it says on the box).

What is your browser, and have you tried changing it?

Its Internet Explorer 8 I believe (I run Windows Seven...so I'm assuming its that one). And no, I haven't tried changing it.

Thanks for the help...I was hoping it was just something with the browser but didn't want to try changing it (I've had a virus on here...didn't know if I had another one). I'll download Firefox later and see if that works.

Update...Firefox works with the history. You have no idea how much of a relief that is...I'm going to college tomorrow, and I was really worried something was wrong with the computer.

But, I'll just stick with Firefox and be happy the problem was just with IE8.
