So... The gameplay is heavily influenced by Dwarf Fortress, and I mean influenced as in made by a huge fan of the game instead of being some developer's cash-in attempt, and the setting is lifted more or less direct from Firefly.
Fucking yes.

This looks excellent. Interesting that it was a bunch of different game technologies that he was working on that all got merged into this, should give it a broad base of neat bits.
Looks like he's got half a million plus in alpha sales and kickstarter funding, so any moment now he'll be hiring lots of guys to get a team going and really get momentum in the project progressing... oh no wait its still just going to be him. I guess we'll see this done in 5 years then?

It looks VERY Promising... I have to say I almost instinctively role my eyes when anyone says "This game is heavily inspired by Dwarf Fortress!" because more often than not, what they mean is "You can build castles and dig!"
THIS game however, It looks like it really may have (at least in Fortress mode) a level of depth similar to the Overseer in Dwarf Fortress, again very Promising. But, if it is just going to be one guy on his own, I'll give up on it right now. one of the thing that infuriates me about Tarn Adams (maker of DF) is his absolute Refusal to let ANYONE else help with the coding for the game.
I totally admire people who have values and morals and whatnot, but there comes a point when you really have to either admit that what you are working is for YOU and not for "The people"
