I put in a DVD and it went in but it isn't showing up on the screen, my DVD player is not on, and I can't eject it. Its like my computer doesn't realize that its in their. As the DVD in question is borrowed, not mine, I'd rather not have to pay to replace it just because I can't eject the fucking thing. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Turn off the computer. Get a metal paper clip, or anything else that is sufficiently strong that will fit in the small hole on the drives face. Put it into the hole and push, which will open the drive enough for you to pull it open the rest of the way and get the disc out.
