What's the best source to find out about new indie PC games?

I like good games. However, I find that FINDING good games is a bitch. AAA titles, with money to market themselves, don't need to be found. Thanks to modern advertising I can be sure they'll find me. The problem is that for smaller games, you have to either wait until positive word of mouth winds its way through social media to your ears (I didn't know about Minecraft until over a year after it had started its rise), or you have to plug blindly through Google in the vague hopes of making a connection to something (the number of times I've googled 'Metroidvania' over the years...).

I mostly rely on Steam Greenlight, but find it massively unfriendly as a search engine. Ideally, I would like to know if there's a website with a really detailed search engine, that is fairly keen on listing new and upcoming titles. I don't even care about reviews - I'm just looking for a way to connect myself to potential titles that I can search and follow on my own, without having to post a 'suggest me games!' thread across the internet every so often.

Have you tried http://www.desura.com ?

I havenĀ“t used it very much but they are the same people who run moddb.com and I allways found moddb.com to be usefull.

The Quarter to Three forum is an excellent place to keep an eye on, because there are lots of discussions about games, both big name games and obscure ones nobody has ever heard of.

I've found a lot of good information about Indie games on Rock, Paper, Shotgun. They are dedicated to PC gaming and they spend a lot of time talking about Indie games.
