Here is a censored screencap.

Are they actually advertising World of Warships. Or did they just throw up a name people have heard of while they are actually advertising a different game ?

Yeah... a few months ago I saw something about a hentai game on Pornhub in an ad. Decided what the hell-- it was the start of the day and I had all day-- and clicked on it. Turns out to be some kind of online medieval RTS, nary a titty in sight.
Seems it's just another way to reel in the suckers...

...is that supposed to be Tifa from FF7?
Wait, nevermind, her hair is too short.
And yeah, that just seems like a more explicit version of all those stupid Evony ads that were the butt of many jokes on the Internet. But with 100% more IP infringement.

Welp, I clicked. NoScript said 'No.' I tried again. It said 'Nope.' I thought about it and went 'eh.'
I already have a WoW account anyway, so it was idle curiosity to see where it led. Either a honey-trap full of viruses or advertising shenanigans.
Say... just where did you get linked to this, anyway, DA?

I remember seeing an advert for...home insurance, I think? It had the standard tagline you'd expect, but situated next to that was a model in a bikini. For no goddamn reason at all other than to make you look at it. It was the most puerile, blatant and gratuitous attempt to grab clicks I've ever seen.
*cough* In other unrelated news, I have a cracking deal for my home insurance now.

This thread is going places. Part of my understanding, which is old info and may be outdated, is that a lot of online advertisement these days in handled via third-party companies that likely have little to no idea about the product. They are given money and told to promote the product and sex seems to sell. Especially if you're looking for ad-space on a site like pornhub.
Speaking of porn games, I saw something hilarious a while back. It's a comic of a guy wearing a VR mask and fucking some type of contraption while playing some porn game. His dad's in the doorway saying "Are ya winning, son?"

I think what pissed me off the most about that, was how the girls pictured evolved into just wearing modern day lingerie. Keep that shit time-specfic, you're destroying my suspension of disbelief.

Worst had to be this Burger King ad for a McRib or some shit. It's this chick off to the left...... wait, why even bother explaining it in detail? The setup is that the chick is totally going to suck a big dick and that big dick is the sandwich.
And the guy (or girl, you never know) who thought that up is probably in therapy for sex addiction because I have no fucking idea who would think to associate anything from BK as sexy. I mean, they actually do have some passable burgers. But we all know how stupid it was when... oh shit, the chick who was in Dukes of Hazard, whatever: she did this commercial where she was washing a car with a burger and slathering herself in shitty fast-food meat and condiments. Did that sell burgers? Maybe it did. I know it didn't seem appealing to me at all.

Case in point:
Suffice it to say associating sex with ads is nothing new.
Outright deceitful ads are perhaps a bit new though. Promising hentai games with naked titties but leading to World of Warships... is definitely another matter.

Deceitful advertising has always been there though. Promising TITS just usually isn't done because that's not a selling point among general audiences. It'd be like.... Starcraft 2 ads being Kerrigan just gyrating her ass at the screen: they'd be hiding a pretty solid game under some bullshit advertising. They don't NEED to do that.
Honestly, the current scamming shit going on has been around longer (WRT video games) and it's much worse. The latest example being the creator of No Man's Sky talking about multiplayer and there being none. They even changed the listing on the Steam store from what I've seen. Going back, showing FMV as in-game footage or at least presenting it in such a way that the average person would assume.
I've beaten this horse into dust, but X-Blades tried to sell on sex for what little ads it actually had. So did Lollipop Chainsaw. Damn, even Remember Me ads were giving us mad ass shots and showing the butt physics. This type of advertising doesn't do much to protect weak products. Full blown genital shots would get them ousted by the ESRB and any "decent" site worth advertising on.
Honesty in ads is a big deal, but Internet click-bait ads have always been terrible. Many of them are just malware anyway.
All that said, the world could use a good porn game. But, I don't think it's possible without just making a visual novel or turning sex into a QTE, which defeats the purpose of porn. If you wanted that route, you'd be better off with "strip-tease" like content anyways, like the DOA games. Or just having enemies lose clothes during combat or some shit like this weird Japanese game I saw a video for. You beat the clothes off Vampires or something.
Still... have to give the Japanese credit for being kings of weird fetish stuff. They have zero fucks to give there.

Porn games are an interesting proposition.
Either they're an extended RPG/visual novel type thing, and your actions and words bring forth certain responses, or they're more or less on rails and you just click buttons or move the mouse when required. Actual interactivity is also problematic; a lot of them have a thing where you move the mouse back and forth to simulate, uh, action, and then when you hit a certain intensity it 'climaxes'. Of course, if you can't use different hands to move the mouse and, ahem, self-stimulate (if that's your thing) then you're kinda screwed...
Virtual porn with the necessary peripherals might work out sometime, though, but that'll likely be more investment than the casual gamer will care for.

If you're looking for something to (using the technical term here) "wack it" too, then like you said: the gameplay can't be too involved. Not just lack of apendages, but even if you get some kind of..... ugh... assistance device (no idea why the concept doesn't appeal to me), sex takes concentration. For example, there's this hilarious video of a guy doing a woman doggy-style. Math notes are written on her back and he's trying to explain the formulas to the viewer. He keeps losing his concentration FOR OBVIOUS reasons and even I'm not paying attention after 5 second because the woman's ass is very appealing.
So, you're stuck with extremely simple game mechanics and also have to deal with the fact that once you're "done," you're probably going to ALT-F4 anyway. Most the porn games I see people even talking about (I don't feel it's worth torrenting them or dealing with translators just for some animated porn. I think I may have bothered with 1 or 2 over the years as a larf) are people asking just to unlock all the scenes. It's not about playing the game, it's about seeing the end result.
As much shit as they get and as much shit as I give them, the exploitative DOA type games actually semi-function here because it's a strip-tease game. But even those mechanics are more about emphasizing the BOOOOOBS. Which is fine, but they didn't even release the last game in the US because people got all up in arms about scantily clad genitals. One site was so mad about it, they reviewed it anyway just to give it a low rating (talk about massive ass pain).
We're past the point where just Fox cries about PG-13 sex in video games. Witcher took a lot of flak from inside the industry for it's casual portrayals of sex. But a lot of that might have been Bioware fanboys/girls. Age of Conan is the last main-stream game I can think of where you had full access to genitals, male and female, any time you wanted as the models were all full-nude. Even Rockstar pusses out and covers nipples because the ESRB lets loose an M rating for dudes getting head exploded, but clothed dry humping means AO.
VR is likely going to create a small to big surge in porn content. Getting access to it is going to be the hard part. Obviously, a lot of that shit won't be sold in the US. It will be indie or mod level content. But still, I don't see that being a porn game as much as porn with a sprinkling of game content in it. And you'd probably just be better served viewing HD VR porn which you can find for free damn-near everywhere these days.

There is a distinct appeal to the interactivity of porn games, but it's going to be very much YMMV. It seems to be a fairly stable niche without massive growth, at least on the Western front. The Japanese games are of course a decent-ish small industry over there from what I understand.
Interestingly enough there's not that much 3DCG animated porn videos out there, even among the Japanese stuff (which is almost universally censored... I've never understood how people put up with that). There's more games than videos. I suppose because it's easier to animate a limited set of frames and whatnot rather than full videos. I think it's pretty safe to say that porn as a game genre isn't going anywhere in the mainstream.

Not that they wouldn't, but that doesn't even look slightly legit. I suspect if you click on it you wouldn't get World of Warships, you'd get World of Malware.

If you mean the crappy movie with Owen Wilson and Johnny Knoxville, it was Jessica Simpson.
And, ewww. Just fucking...ewww. That image just made me not hungry and not horny at the same time.

Actually bothering to Google it: it was a Paris Hilton video for a car. She just eats a burger during it. So.... gross... in multiple ways.
My mind must finally be going because the ACTUAL video I remember is Sophie Monk washing a car with a burger during a scene in the horrifically bad (though not the worst of these trash heaps) Date Movie.
The Jessica Simpson video I remembered actually WAS from Dukes of Hazard and now I feel regret for never watching it because MY GOD!
In my defense, having women wash cars is a pretty popular American past-time.

The game you're talking about is
Akiba's Trip, and yeah, it pretty much is about subduing vampires (and juvenile delinquents, and cops, and everyone else in between) by beating them up and stealing their clothes. The fighting mechanics are clumsy and it's more than a bit grindy, but I personally found it to be a ton of fun.

Likely just a fairly unscrupulous advertising partner, then.
