Generals Build Orders

What do you guts find are the best CnC: Generals build orders?
I've been doing a little experimenting between going for a strong infintry or going for an early second war factory. The experienced players seem to be able to get out a lot more tanks then I can within the same time frame and I'm not sure what they're doing differently.
I know sacrificing a barracks means you can build an extra resource carrier which is beneficial in the long run but leaves you open to an infantry rush. I've also been considering possibly delaying the war factory a little longer in order to get the economy more stable.

USA:
- Build power plant (and upgrade)
- Build additional dozer
- Build barracks
- Build supply center
- Build Patriot
- Build additional Chinook (usually)
- Build air field
- Build Commanche (what my friend and I have dubbed "the Commanche rush") and attack with it
- Build up F-22s
- Build lots of power plants
- Build Patriots, Rangers, and rocket soldier to garrisson and defend shizzle
- War factory
- More Patriots
- Strat center
- Supply drop zone
- Power plants
- Particle cannon
For General Abilities:
- Spy Drone
- F-117, sometimes Paladin
- A-10 strike
- A-10 strike 2
- Fuel-air bomb, A-10 strike 3, and either Pathfinders or Paratroopers

It's a quite common tactic actually, and there are lots of people who do that.
That's why I always have plenty of bunkers with RPG-infantry in my base.

The beauty of it is that 1) your enemy rarely has any AA at all at this point and 2) you can simply maneuver the Commanche around the enemy base and blow up their supply route.

When I play as GLA, I often save my General Points until level five, so that I can afford both Level 3 Cash Bonus and Level 3 Rebel Ambush. (Which is extremely effective when the rebels are camoflaged)

By the time the US player comes with his 20+ Commanches I have already plenty of bunkers and gatling canons.
(It works better against the GLA though since their defense sucks.)

The thing is, you can defend with an attacking force but you can't attack with static defenses. This is why I don't like building too much in the way of defense until mid game. Better to have something that can bite back.

Yeah, heavy defences are even more of a waste with the GLA because, as Cpt_Frank mentioned above, their defences really suck.

I think you misunderstood me.
I'm talking about attacking with
one Commanche.

Only one? And that works?

If you do it fast enough such attacks can work.

Am I the only one who builds barracks first and then at least 6 RPG units?

This tactic really depends on your opponent. If, like Cpt Frank here, the enemy builds a bunch of RPG troopers to get some quick defense, then it doesn't have as much potential. However, very few people anticipate an attack on their supply line this early in the game. Bye bye supply trucks/workers/supply depot.
