Why I don't think I'll be STGODing.

Post by Anarchist Bunny »

While the only accual fight I've found has been IG-88/Alsyrum fight, and the nationstates war, what I've seen I don't like. I started on the internet at a roleplay HTML chatroom called "The Dungeon". While it was a chat room we had fights, often, occasionally we even had battles. There were several things that could end up getting ignored by the majority of the room. One was god moding. Another was calling hits. And in STGODS I'm seeing not only calling hits, but damage as well, which I seem to find absurd. Probly just how I learned to do this kind of thing on the internet.

It doesn’t sound like you've actually been in anything that could be called a STGOD.

I have to say that my chief complaints against TGOD is the power creep, and the achievement-driven nature of the game itself. All too often, one has to sacrifice story for efficience.

Um, what is a STGOD ??? I see so many different threads on it here and so I usually skip them cause I don't know what they are, so know I am curious. So if someone would be kind enough to explain it or provide a link that does, I would appreciate it. Thanks in advance!

Its basically a roll playing/strategy game in which each player controls a nation or organization that they created.

Or individual, if the player so chooses.

I think it stands for "Structured the Good Old Days". I am quite certain about those last four words, less so about the first.

You are correct

Indeed it's structured TGOD, it's an old ASVS tradition. TGODs tend to get to insane power levels after a while, as can be seen here.
A structured TGOD has a mod (phong) who makes sure all the players are roughly at the same power level, to prevent cheesy cop-ours and so that an interesting story can develop. Our current STGOD is at DS-9 technology level.[/url]

Try months, if not years in the case of the biggest on ASVS and the Spacebattles Story Debate equivalents. Though I doubt this one will last all that long, if it ever starts.

Better yet, if you want to see what the real TGODs and STGODs are like, look here.
