Price of Playstation 2 games

I'm posting this thread because i'm concerned if this is a one off or not. But yesterday i was able to buy some PS2 games at the price of £15 each. And these wheren't all old games either. I was able to get Resident Evil Code Name Veronica, Star Wars Bounty Hunter, WWE Smack Down Shut Your Mouth and Soul Reaver 2 all for £60. When i was talking to the guy on the counter of Game he said it was because the ass was falling out of the PS2 market. Many users are sticking to PC games because they are on the whole £10 - £15 cheaper than a PS2 equiv game and as such slightly older games will now sell a lot cheaper.

Is this only a UK thing?

Hey Ein, something I've been meaning to ask. Do you use a ball mouse or optical?

It would appear to be a UK only thing.. at least I assume so. Down here in Florida it's about the same price for a new PC game as a new PS game

Though I should add by now there's a price drop on the games you mentioned.

Resident Evil: Code Veronica is down to $20 here now since it was added to the Greatest Hits series, and Soul Reaver 2's down to $25. WWE Shut your mouth is down to $40 I think.

Depends

Some have become greatest hits...some have just lowered in price.

Optical.

No self-respecting Railgunner would use anything other than a LaserMaus. :)

Yes, I know that laser mice don't have a real laser, but it sounds kool, just like the word 'Turbolaser Cannon'. :D

Oh that's quite interesting actually, I've been told that some people prefer to stick to bal mice because you get a slightly higher speed out of them.

It really boils down to the drivers; the difference between USB and PS/2 is really negligible.

Having said that, Logitech's new dual-scan optical mouse is kriffin' wonderful...

I'm jealous. Even on the pirate scene, a PS2 game would cost 7-8 USD from the sources I'm familiar with (not including shipping), and those require a modchip. Sony's playing out the market the same way Nintendo used to -- the real deal is always the same price everywhere you look with a few exceptions (for instance, I just saw a new, unopened Xenosaga for $26 at Costco the other day). Most of the time, they're 40-50 USD.

Before any actual burning to occur, I would like to say that if you ever drop by here (Philippines) I'll be happy to show you around especially a certain mall which is chock full of pirated video games and such.

Don't you know these sellers have a return policy? If you buy a defective CD which is sometimes unavoidable, you can just simply return it the next day and have it replace? :D

The first-generation optical mice actually did use lasers and a reflective mouse pad.
