Annoying thing in Deus Ex (Spoiler Warning)

Post by Ironbeard »

In the level where Paul has me search the terrorist HQ, I can't find the evidence he says should be there. I found the datacube with the radio passwords , and Paul said there should be evidence in the same room. The Can of Worms walkthrough suggests that the evidence is inside the cabinet the datacube is on, but I don't see it.

Its been awhile... which level are you talking about? Is it the NSF base where you have to go up to the top of the building and radio another organization?

Forget finding the evidence. Just send the transmission and go back to talk to him. :P

There should be another datacube inside the glass-doored cabinet that the password info was on, but it's completely optional to get and affects nothing. If you can't find it, just make for the roof to continue the game.

Yeah, it's the NSF base...where's this safe of which you speak? And I guessed it doesn't affect the game - it just doesn't feel right becoming a terrorist without specific proof of the govts wrongdoings.

There's four doors on that floor. One of them doesn't have a mine, but rather a couple of guards. Of course, you might want to keep fiddling with the settings and trying to disarm that mine - getting that down'll be handy later.

There's a second cabinet in the next room.

I blew the door off that one with a crate of TNT (I'd run out of lockpicks) and didn't find any datacube of papers. I'll have another look if I've still got the savegame. If all else fails, is there a cheaty way I can get it, or at least find out what it says without having to find it?
