Help with Homeworld
On mission 10, the one where you have to destroy the research base near the supernova, how do you get your ships to the base? The dust clouds occasionally protect them from the radiation, but they're also filled with mines...
And when I'm sad, you're a clown

Get Missile destroyers to shoot the mines (Ctrl+LMB), slavage the destroyers and the cruiser, salvage the carrier when it flees, shoot the base with everything you've got. Oh, there are some Frigates around the veins.

Thats about how I did it. Except I sent a carrier through the mines with a dozen repair corevettes instead.Warspite wrote:3rd Impact wrote:On mission 10, the one where you have to destroy the research base near the supernova, how do you get your ships to the base? Anyway, you neutralize the minefield as you move along the northern vein staying above the base. You will find two destroyers and a cruiser. Be very careful salvaging these things. Eventualy you assault the base itself. A Carrier flees which you will be in position to capture, although you have to kill its strike compliment. Takes a bit of practice.

Or get a group of 10-15 fighters are blow up the mines by picking of the edge ones and working your way through. (The fighters can out run the mines)Warspite wrote:3rd Impact wrote:On mission 10, the one where you have to destroy the research base near the supernova, how do you get your ships to the base? Or running a group of ~10 Frigates through with repair Frigates guarding them.

If you don't want to go through the dust vein with all the mines, there should be 1 or 2 other veins you can go through instead.
But be careful, in these other veins, you'll have to make short hops out of the vein to get to where you're going.
