its become a habit of mine, when I see a yu gi oh deck, to flip through it, and read the titles allowed, while mentioning some of them could be porn titles. I did this at scout camp today, to the amusement of all.

using a deck I found on the net completely randomly:

Wait, Giant Growth? That's supposed to be a Magic card! :P

As a rule, I do not touch (literally) CCGs based off of franchises. If the card game wasn't created first, then it's not going to be around for very long. (Exceptions would be where the first product were minatures or RPGs.)

With Yu-Gi-Oh, it's kinda iffy.

It's a card game based off a card game.

The SWCCG is still around and kicking, for almost 8 years now.

Just like almost any other anime... I love how they edited out the guns for the Kids WB version, but left the fingers sticking out.

And I was looking through the first volume of the Yu-Gi-Oh! manga during Japanese class... it has the main character playing a guy in chicken, and stabbing the guys hand, nailing it to the table, AND him also setting someone on fire... pretty cool shit, if you ask me. :)

Yeah, "Raise Dead" would be a kickass porn title.

I dont mind it...they had it on after Stargate SG-1 and Andromeda here every day for a while so I watched it a bit (the sanatized WB version) and decided to try some of the games.....they are pretty good, especially the gameboy advanced variations.

I had the same skepticism torwards the game. At first I thought it would die quickly like other attempts I had seen (like the ill-fated US release of MSWar.) After a couple of months, I got curious and bot a deck and some boosters. I am now addicted. i watch the show, buy the boosters, and read the manga. Run! If you have not started stay back from it and save yourself! If you will excuse me I'm about to show my younger sibling the awesome power of my Limiter Removal/Axe of Despair/Barrel Dragon/Solomon's Lawbook combo.

Yeah, but the Card game here is based off the Card game that is in the manga, not the Yu-Gi-Oh characters or events themselves.

It'd be interesting to see L5R turned into a manga... It'd lead to some rather odd plot twists though...

Does the card game itself have one? And plus, Japanese swords are cool.

Yes, they are...kind of...based off each other. The main characters in the game, such as recently Phage, Akroma, Ixidor, and Kahmal, all have parts in the books.

well, yes, read the flavour text, and you'll understand parts of the story.
