Enter the Matrix: synopsis of game storyline, please?

Howdy.

Still jazzed after watching "Final Flight of the Osiris" from the Animatrix DVD.

I understand the new videogame "Enter the Matrix" is a direct sequel to this, detailing how Niobe retrieved Jue's parcel from the mailbox, right?

Can someone give me a summary of the game storyline, especially the live action sequences? Am trying to decide if I think the game is potentially cool enough to bother investing in a Playstation2 or X-Box.

By the way, and only someone who is as much of a functionally illiterate computer luddite as myself would ask this, but would the live-action sequences from the game be playable on a DVD player or would the game console be absolutely required?

Thanks.

Ooops. This would have been more appropriately posted to the Gaming forum, yes? Sorry. How do you move these silly things? :(

A moderator has the power to move them.

There were a few cool things in the game. I got bored of it though. Glad I just rented it.

The story starts off with retrieving the item from the mailbox. There's a cool duplicate of the "entrance-way scene" from Matrix 1, ie the square pillars with the tons of shooting.

The story continues with the meeting between the captains. When the agents show up you have to escape, then rescue some captured guys.

Basically you "support" and play along side the story in Matrix 2.

Overall I didn't like the game that much, although there are a number of cool scenes. The fighting wasn't that great or involved. The gameplay is pretty linear. The driving sequences were not that great either. I also have an Xbox, so the PS2-style levels were a bit of a drag.

Some people like it though, especially if you're a Matrix fanatic and desperately need a Matrix "fix". IMHO, you should rent it first.

Bargain bin...the game action sequences are pretty good, but piloting the craft is like riding on a greased pig on rollar skates.

Then stick with Ghost.

WTF?! The driving levels are so god-damn annoying!

If only there were none, and it was just level after level of glorious kung-fu action...

I would recomend renting it before buying it, I personally like this game alot, but that is just me. There are many people who do not like this game at all, but I have to agree the driving levels suck. And when you play as Ghost you don't drive, Niobe does and her AI sucks. Buit the Fung-Fu is GREAT :D

Anyone else had this strange "bug" in the driving sequences? Well, this bug makes all the AI-controlled vehicles to basically bounce everywhere, like they were rubber balls, and ineffectively try to shoot you or something. 90% of the time I'll see a squad car upside down and following me, sometimes it's simply pointing at the sky like a damn rocket or something, and it doesn't follow me. In the scene where I chase the airplane, there's the agent car and they say "oh no! he's going to reach them before you" or something like that but the car simply drives out of the road, crashes into a wall, bounces into the opposing wall, then bounces some more, then goes on bouncing. After that it bounces a few more times, but by then you're already at the goal :P

Also the AI Niobe driving sucks almost as badly. I barely had to shoot any cars as Ghost because they didn't really damage or follow me very well, but I was tempted to shoot Niobe, since she often decided to slam into a building and then continuing accelerating into it, thinking she could maybe push it out of the way or something.

Very strange.

Never had either of those problems (Niobe did seem distinctly lacking in the knowledge of how to pass.. usually solved quickly though via application of firepower).
