Would it be possible to take a small LCD display, crack it open and remove the lighting and everything, then shine a high power focused light through the screen?

I think you'd very likely crack the display in the process. I dont know if htat would work though.

maybe im thinking about this the wrong why but wouldn't you also need a mirror the same size
