Everyone who loves MOO must buy Galactic Civilizations
This game just rules in every single way. Not only is the level of detail, the design, the art, the sound, the graphics, and the gameplay really tight (basically, it really is Civilization in Space, x100 and much more logical than any Civ has ever been, enjoyment wise), but if there's one thing that rules, it's the sense of scale- for example, Earth (you always play as the humans, which is really cool because there's lot's of customization options) has a population of several billion people at the start of the game. You wanna invade an enemy star system? You're sending billions of troops to do the job, and that means hundreds of millions of men dead in the very least. Awesome. Unless, of course, you decide to use mass drivers (B5, anyone?) gas warfare, information warfare (intense propaganda campaign), war robots (tend to go a bit beserk, so expect more civvie casualties) etc. This is just one facet of the game, but I could go on forever. The Star Base system is also really impressive. And the ship classes all make a lot of sense. Oh, and you start off the game with a USS Enterprise-type vessel that goes and explores numerous 'anomalies' that show up on the map- you can build more of these things too (as well as upgraded versions that are actual warships in their own right). Did I mention the research system was great? And that the cutscenes for events are really tight?
I really could rave about this game forever. Haven't got much time to play it until after Thursday, and it's killing me.

Instruction manual says the following:Sea Skimmer wrote:What are the system requirements?
Extremely low-brow.
1 GHz Pentium III and 256MB RAM or better recommended for optimal performance, though 600Mhz Pentium III and 128MB RAM is the minimum.
500 megabytes of HD space for all multimedia features to be installed.
Display capable of supporting at least 1024x768x16 bit color. Additional updates to the game, including new events, ships, and technologies, can be downloaded from www.galciv.com (these people really support their games).

Good then I could probably run it at a decent rate and resolution.

Has anyone else played the original OS/2 version? That game kicked ass.
