Some of you may remember me talking about my RPG a while back, Blades and Barmaids, a custom Modular Roleplaying System. Well, now it has a book in (semi) finished form with all the rules included, a spiffy logo and a downloadable character sheet in Word format. RPG fans come check it out!

Interesting. Has it been playtested?

Yes, off and on for the better part of 5 years. It's recently been overhauled, but nothing was added that would invalidate the previous playtesting. The changes were geared mostly toward streamlining the rules. One thing I'm particularly proud of is that you can understand how to make basically all rolls from combat to magic by reading a single paragraph in the beginning of Chapter 3. The whole book is only 35 or so pages because it's so streamlined.

By the way, I'm running a game starting in a few weeks on OpenRPG (Go here for more information if you don't know what OpenRPG is). Should be lots of fun.

EDIT 7/6/03 Added a hyperlink to my game on RPGRegistry.com

You have no idea how glad I am to hear that. This is the first time I've had the rulebook in a (semi) finished state, so it warms my heart to hear that someone is considering using it :D

I may be biased since I've helped in the creation, and been the guinea pig for 99% of the playtesting, but I'd say that shouldn't come as much of a surprise. You've worked hard on this system, and it's damn good, dude. B&B kicks D&D's ass.

Hehe, those unfortunate initials were quite intentional. The Mods to the game (which I haven't documented yet) are called Guns and Glory (G&G) and Power & Peril (P&P). :D

Oh btw, the Big Book has been minorly updated, just fixing typos mostly, although there are now a couple rules I forgot to add before (Free Swings and Fatigue to be exact, both in Chapter 4). Still, those who already have the previous version should probably just wait until the next update when I hope to have the Example of play and a working Table of Contents.

OK, the book's been updated to include a working Table of Contents, example of play, and quite a few combat rules that I forgot about before. There were also a fair number of typos fixed.

The website's also been updated to function in all browsers (since it doesn't use frames, or any other crap that makes it non-functional in any browser but IE). I'm certainly no HTML expert, but at least I don't use Frontpage.

Website's been updated. Actually starting to come together. Now it's on two RPG webrings and there either are or will be soon more example character sheets available for download. Also, Big Book's been updated to include an example of play and the table of contents.

Btw, could this thread be moved to the Fantasy section? That's where it really belongs.

There are now 5 example character sheets available (all characters of mine): Kurt, a big sumbitch who also steals for a living, my first character ever (from AD&D), now updated in B&B; Kain, a lupine with lightning reflexes; Shail, a gruff, rough-n-tumble dwarf; Darkshade, a mysterious ninja-type guy; and Marty, a elven cop thrown off the force for murdering a perp.

I really enjoy the example of play. It's gruesome (pieces of orc flying everywhere, definitely not for the faint of heart), but I enjoyed writing it. Although this session never actually took place, it very well could have, and as the Book will show later, all rolls, movement, etc. that take place behind the scenes follow B&B rules.

Website looks great now, with an excellent logo (and I can say that, because I wasn't the one who designed it). Like Gerard said, new character sheets. The game on RPGRegistry still needs at least 1 more player. Big Book to be updated soon.

P.S. Could a mod please move this thread to the fantasy forum where it belongs? This is the second time I've asked.
