Halo PC: Screenshots

...I think. i found these on a German games site, which is here. I can't understand what the article means (My german is mediocre at best), but the presence of a flamethrower in one of the shots means that this is the PC version of Halo.

They've had plans to release Halo on PC for a while. I don't really care much. As far as shooters go, co-op is the only really great thing about Halo. I think being on X-Box is what made it so good. That, and how much of a bad-ass the Master Chief is.

The last good FPS for console I played was Goldeneye on N64, that's just sad. From your screenshot it looks like they've added a flame-thrower (unless that's a shot from Halo 2). They probably would have to change the game for it too have any life on PC.

Actually that pic (and the others on that site btw) is from an early build of Halo for the Xbox. The flame thrower almost made it into the Xbox version but they couldn't get it to work right in time for release. Look here:link if you don't believe me. Scroll down until you see the "Hidden Flamethrower?" entry.

The one that will eventually show up in the PC version will probably be similar though.

I still have the box for my VooDoo 5 5500. If you look on the back, it has a picture of 3 Chiefs in a Warthog. It's a rough pic, but it's unmistakable that it Halo.

I still wonder if Halo would have been as good as a game if it had been released as another PC FPS like it was designed too.

Oh, and i they push back Halo 2 anymore, I'm gonna have to go postal.

Yeah, that picture is most definately from before it was slated for the X-Box.

The flamethrower for the current PC version is a "maybe".

For the PC version, there probably will be. What will be included is:

*Banshees and Shades in Multiplayer.
*The Fuel Rod gun (The thing the Hunters use)
*A rocket varient of the Warthog.

I thought it was a raw shot at first, which is why I thought it was Halo PC.

It's an actual screenshot. It's just a older build of Halo before they took the flamethrower out.

The problem was, while the weapon did cause damage to enemies, but it did not actually set things on fire. The weapons as it was didn't have any of the benefits a flamethrower should bring to combat. As you can tell from the pic the flamethrower is shooting actual waves of flames when it should really be more like a water gun. The only difference being the water is on fire and sticks to poor, hapless Grunts and Jackals.

Hopefully the guys at Gearbox will be able to solve the problem so they can include the weapon in the PC release.
If not Bungie will probably include a flamethrower of some sort in Halo 2.

Banshees and Shades will be in Halo 2 multiplayer, and there is a plasma turrent-mounted Warthog shown in the E3 demo. As for the fuel rod gun... dunno.

Incorrect. The Warthog's new turrent in the demo is a gauss rifle(rail gun).
