OK, first things first. For awhile now I've been an Imperial soldier on Rori, a moon of Naboo (server Scylla for those who care). I am one of very few Imperials there, and of those only three of us are declared (as opposed to covert). So that means we have very little manpower on a remote world with significant Rebel presence. Not a good thing for the Empire.
Now I'm not that high up the skill tree yet, I've only been playing for five days now. So, as I was browsing for some good Imperial missions to do, I see a little red blip on my radar. I target it, and lo and behond, a damn Rebel running around the city. I jam myself into half my armor and pull out a random pistol I had and we started blasting away at each other. Needless to say, I was killed pretty quickly. I cloned and immediately alerted every Imperial in the area (though those covert pansies didn't care, of course) and grabbed my equipment... I saw two Rebels running around, on what business I could not tell. I was covert (as is default after having been cloned) and no match for two of them so I tailed them and watched them leave the city.
My Twi'lek pal (one of the declared Imperials) was not on at the time... so I was completely on my own. I'd recorded the two Rebels' names on a handy sticky note entitled "Known Rebels" and combed the city, alerting various PCs to be on the lookout for Rebels... Sure enough, the one who killed me earlier came back, though I was a bit more prepared this time and managed to wound him a little more than last time. Thus ended that day.
The next day was relatively calm, and I don't remember much of it. One of the Rebels popped in for a bit IIRC and probably killed me again.
The third day was the awesome day.
At about 02:00 my time, I was running some simple errand missions for the Empire, not bothering to wear my armor, I generally just wear my "field dress" around town (Imperial boots and jacket, with camo pants). Anyways, I happen to glace at a few PCs running in the opposite direction next to me... none other than the two Rebels, except they were covert and thus not directly hostile. Unfortunately for them, covert status doesn't do you much good when your names are recorded as belonging to known Rebels . I tailed them, put on my armor and grabbed my trusty DL-44 while alerting my Twi'lek bud who happened to be on at the time. I lost them, but he found them and watched them leave on a shuttle. They'd be back, and I knew it. We stood guard at the shuttleport for a few minutes, then bam, one of 'em showed up. He was promptly shredded by our ambush and we cut him down as he pathetically tried to run. I'd been wantting to say for a long time, so I calmly walked up to his incapacitated form and said, "You Rebel scum." and finished him. Bwaha. Haha. Hahahahaa. We stood on guard at the shuttleport for awhile longer then patroled the town... at which point we saw the other one, hiding inside the spaceport terminal. We barged in there, somewhat foolishly as I half-expected an ambush but didn't care. Sure enough, both of them were there(although horrendously wounded, to our advantage), and as I was the first one in I didn't last long. My pal managed to protract it into a shootout while I popped out of the cloning vats wearing nothing but an undershirt and my original camo pants. I sprinted to the spaceport as fast as I good, my squadmate was slowly losing the battle and as I got there he was falling back out of the terminal into the main city plaza. So, being the loyal Imperial soldier I am, ran up to one of the offending Rebels and started bitchslapping him with my bare hands and feet. Once again, earlier planning had paid off, as I had trained in hand-to-hand combat not long before. They were getting seriously messed up at this point and we felled one of them, killed him, and went for the next. The living one was the original Rebel we had killed, badly wounded from free cloning and the battle, and again he ran. My squadmate got lagged and eventually lost... so it was me, barefoot, clad in undershirt and camo pants, sprinting after this Rebel firing wildly behind him through the outskirts of a relatively backward and rural town.
My eventually came to a stalemate. We got into a walled off niche in the town with only one entrance. There was a building in the middle, and we got on opposite sides with me near the only door. So I sat there, begging my pal to get here with all due haste (as the Rebel was healing himself)... unfortunately my bud got a bit... confused and arrived far too late. The damn Rebel had vanished from my sight, and when my squaddie got here we stormed both routes around the building and only ran into two civilians at the opposite side. Oh well.
I grabbed my equipment and we went to recuperate a bit... after the lesson we taught them, they probably wouldn't show up again too soon. I went to the cantina while my friend went to the hospital. Just as I'm relaxing, he tells me there's another Rebel in the hospital. I run off to the hospital and get there just in time, my bud was almost dead. We stormed into the hospital together and messed him up bad (and I said "You Rebel scum" again during the firefight ). He ran, we chased him, and gunned him down. This was a different Rebel I'd had an encounter with before, though I didn't mention it here as I am lazy.
The last victory of the night came while we were resting in the cantina - I saw a guy in there whose name I'd recognized. I was pretty sure I saw it attached to a Rebel metal mine we'd passed earlier that day. We went out, and thanks to the Twi'lek's good memory and scouting skills, we found where we were and did indeed find that that guy owned and operated a Rebel resource collector. Promptly added him to the list and I'll deal with him next time I see him around town
