So, does anybody actually play it here? C'mon, don't be shy. I'll admit I play it too, but I haven't found anyone in my area who can actually give me a challenge. I'm sick of all the kiddies 'Sharking 999 in every stat and cramming their team with Mewtwo/Lugia/etc.

I still love my G/S/C team, which consists of the following

Jolteon - Baton Pass/Double Team/Thunderwave/Thunderbolt (starter)
Alakazam (female) - Disable/Psychic/Recover/Reflect
Snorlax - Curse/Double-Edge/Psych Up/Sweet Kiss
Lapras - Confuse Ray/Horn Drill/Ice Beam/Surf
Primeape - Counter/Cross Chop/Foresight/Rest (w/Mint Berry)
Marowak - Ancient Power/Bonemerang/Curse/Sandstorm

My Curselax has actually served me pretty well. I've swept someone's entire remaining team with it, after killing off the rest of 'em...he did nothing to keep me from Cursing up, so by the time I had six of 'em under my belt, his Houndoom, his Tentacruel, and his Scizor all fell to a single hit of Double-Edge each.

I do more than just play it. I'm the webmaster of Bulbagarden.com. Of course, only our forums are decent at all at the moment. Getting the site back up after everything that led to it going down at the start of last year is no small job.

Been a while since I've had the chance to play G/S/C (And I haven't had enough time to build up my levels in Ru/Sa yet), though I used to have a mean all Bug Team. Forretress as the Starter, Scizor as a Passer, Heracross as a general Physical attacker, Shuckle as an original Offensive Shuckle set (You'd be surprised how well this guy can pull off a Defence Curl/Rollout combo once you pass Swords Dance/Agility to him), Ariados as a Toxic/Trapper, and Butterfree as a Psudohazer. And it actually won me battles, would you believe. Had a bit of a rep at IGN back in the day for being the "Bug Master". They seem to have got rather a good boost in Ru/Sa as well, so that'll only play in my favour if I can ever get a proper team together. All that time breeding in G/S/C, all wasted now.....

I understand that they may be making some kind of system to trade from the old games. I say this because all the pokemon are still there but you can't catch some odd 100 or so.

In RU (dont have SA) I just recently restarted because the final evo of torchic looked so retarded i couldn't put up with it anymore. I'm just getting a real team agian.

I have played it. To mammoth degrees.

In fact, at one point, I used to have a gameboy colour fixed to my right hand as if by superglue.

I never really got a great team though.

I used to play it, then I stopped.

But I found my Game Boy(after several months) today, so I'm playing again. :D

I need to get an SP, so I can get Ru/Sa(among other games.)

I have it, but rarely play it since there's nobody to play it against.

Red Lineup. All level 100s.

Mewtwo: Amnesia, Recover, Psychic, Blizzard.
Articuno: Blizzard, Fly, something, something.
Rhydon: Horn Drill, Earthquake, Blizzard, and Thunder (I think)
Jolteon: Pin missile, Thunder, Earthquake? and Double Kick.
Gengar: Psychic, Hypnosis, Thunder, Dream Eater.
Starmie: Psychic, Blizzard, Thunder, Recover.

I kinda geared my team to be able to handle anything that came it's way. I know at least one had Hydro Pump.

As for Gold, Hounddoom, Tyrannitar, Lugia are the only ones I remember.

It's part of either Pokémon Coliseum or Pokémon Box, the 2 Gamecube Pokémon addons. (Think of them as the Battling and Organisational parts of Stadium, made into two games) Could be both. I'd have to check with evkl.

I used to have Pokemon Blue, Red, Trading Card Game and Yellow (aquired in that order). They are in fact some of my all time favourite RPGs. But I gave them (along with my old Gameboy and a few other games) a few months ago to some of the kids who live down the road.

Nowadays, I play Yui-Gi-Oh: Eternal Duelist Soul and a new copy of the Pokemon TCG on my Gameboy Advanced every now and then.

Back in the days of Blue, I played it to death. Then I stopped caring.

I played Blue for a long time, then Silver for a shorter time.

I'm not going to buy the new ones.

Ruby and Gold were the best. I had a level 90-100 team. I use fire and air to kill all.
Damn that pika

Collosseum's got an RPG mode where you can catch the old Pokemon. You play as a guy code-named Super Keel (okay, that's kind of wierd, but hey, Solid Snake is kind of strange too. ) who has to run around stealing other people's Pokemon. And some of the trainers you steal from just so happen to have the unobtainables. serebii.net has scans from the issue of Coro Coro that mentions this.

And bah to all you naysayers. :P I think it's a great game, and I can't wait 'til NetBattle updates for RuSa.

FYI, Xeno Lugia already confirmed that all this "Team Snatch" stuff was a mistranslation on Serebii's part. Keep up with the times. :P

I worked at a collectable store for quire awhile and while I have never played the game I know for certain I will never even attempt to.

Pokemon failed utterly as a game, the vast amjority of people only collected the cards, but never actually used them. It was also geared toward a younger crowd. Yu-Gi-Oh! on the other hand was designed to be played instead of collected, that's why all the kiddies are trying to sell their Pokemon cards to buy Yu-Gi-Oh! cards and packs.

Nothing but the most rare and/or older cards are worth anything these days.

Your're probably right(I really didn't get much into the PM card game myself), but we're talking about the GB/GBA games here.

I'd have to wonder if perhaps you just had a poor region for the Pokémon Card Game, because that's not the impression I've gained of the world scene from my years on Pokémon BBS's, including Wizard's own boards. For starters, the Pokémon TCG tournaments in recent years have, by all accounts, been second only to M:tG tournaments in size and scope.

Considering I live in Texas I'd think the intrest in the game is about as good as it gets.

Just about the only people that were interested were older collectors and younger kids that hadn't discovered Yu-Gi-Oh! yet.
