Half-Life: did Freeman take the job?

We all know what happens at the end of Half-Life. So, does Freeman reject the G-Man's offer, thus putting him in a battle he can't possibly win, or does he take the slimeballs job? Which makes more sense in light of HL2?

I think he accepts. Considering I tried the other thing even with god mode and it still ended

I hope they make a mission pack with Shepard and Barney.

Wasn't it kind of a "Join me or die!" offer? Since there's going to be a sequel, I think he had to have accepted the job.
I wonder what the job is... Alien hunter? Nah, too simple.

I think he joined and then he rebelled or something.

Who gives a shit about HL2? The original HL wasn't even subtitled!
*shoots Valve*

Shep is deaf. However, the way Half-Life works, it would be difficult at best to subtitle things. Games like Elite Force had subtitles for cutscenes only for the most part. Half-Life just doesn't lend itself for subtitles without some major reworking of the game structure given its relatively free flow and only partialy scripted events.

That would be nice, though at least Barney is in HL2 as an NPC who fights alongside with you.
This tiny screenshot does not do justice to the scene where it was taken from - you have to see HL2 in action before you really understood the awesome look and feel of the new game. After watching Gamespy's (ack!) E3 demonstration video of HL2, I found myself thinking that this game will be more revolutionary than its predecessor.

As what comes to your original question, every piece of news, including the HL2 overview at Planethalflife.com, says that he accepted G-Man's offer.

Damn you, the evils of FilePlanet!
Now I must wait 15 minutes, PLUS the time to download... oh well, I am certain it is worth it.

I had to wait fifty minutes for the download to start, but it really was worth it!

I don't know, I got all my HL2 movies from IGN and there was no queue, I was even able to put them in my GetRight queue and download the day after... also they're the super-high resolution versions (the Traptown one was 150 mb)

Make it so that you PLAY Otis, and you can only run for thirty seconds before you have to stop and catch your breath...

How many megs is that video- I've got Traptown, I don't know if I can afford to spend more bandwith (once I go over my 3000meg limit i start paying extra)

How the FUCK is it "difficult" to flash text on screen in sync with what
the characters are saying at vital moments such as "I need you to open
that door" or plot points? I dont' expect subtitling for voices that aren't
really needed, like the soldiers talking to one another unless it's important,
like you're walking towards a hall way, and you hear them talking, so
you duck into a grate to get around them....

He's right. They were able to do if for AvP 2 so it cant be that hard.

No. It would in fact be kind of easy. When a talk script is activated it would have been as easy as having a simultaneous script write text on screen from a file such as "titles.txt". They already did so in the Hazard Course for basic controls.
They could have had the game do it. They just didn't think of it. If there had been subtitles I would have used them, too. Some of those guys really mumble at times...
