MS IE Help cant display Pictures

my internet explorer wont display pictures anymore. i alerady checked the the box "display pictures" in internet options but it still doesnt work.
if i move over a javascript button the picture will appear.
if i rightclick one of these red x thingis where a picture´s supposed to be and click display picture it shows the picture.
can someone tell me what´s wrong?
