Neverwinter Nights - Shadows Of Undrentide: Disgraceful
In this day and age it seems publishers just don't seem to get it right and as a consequence shops like ours get lots of stick from our customers, often very irate, and rightfully so, on the way titles are published with obvious faults.
About two days ago, the new expansion for Neverwinter Nights, Shadows Of Undrentide, was released. Since then we have received an overwhelming number of complaints from our customers, all claiming the discs are faulty. Having investigated the problem ourselves, we too discovered an unreasonably high rate of failure for such a very popular title.
It is bad enough when one has to download a patch to get a title going but this one goes way beyond. You, the customer, has to either make an STD phone call or at the least email Atari to get the fix, in the form of a CD, and, to add insult to injury you may have to wait for as long as five days to get up and running, which is disgraceful in my opinion. What's the alternative? Give me your copy back and get your money back, go to another shop and try their copy, I guarantee it will give you the same problem. How do I know? Well, we thought we would go the long yard, as we do, and asked if we could get heaps of the fix cd so we can immediately provide them to customers experiencing difficulties. The reply is as below:[/quote]
Fuck them. It seems every Australian who wants to play SoU has been fucking screwed. Fuck them, I'm returning my newly purchased copy, getting my 50 bucks back, and buying Bloodmoon for Morrowind instead. Tossers. Atari has a short but distinguished history of refusing to accept any responsibility for their own fuckups- they actually had the gall to suggest it wasn't a problem on their end, but ALL of Australia's CD-ROM drives are faulty because they can't deal with their 'sophisticated' copy protection.
They can cram it up their ass- The thread from hell filled with angry aussies
