Taking the initiative, post here wether or not you are in the redone STGOD from the begining of the SD.net STGODing experience, and what nation you will be using. New Nations are accepted, as well as new players. Old players are also able to use new nations.

Just so you know I am using Monacora.

I am in.

Using a psionic race(not as powerful as the one I will use in the ASVS redo)

Known as what else but.. The Psion Republic.

Isn't that the same name as your ASVS redux power???

That's going to get confusing.

yes... It is...

Same race, different history and power scale(no planet cracking psions)

relativly advanced(for some individuals) telepathy, rare telekinetics, and mild precog for gunners and fighter pilots.

They excell at space combat naturaly, but dont have the population for prolonged ground ops and due to small population, have fewer ships.

Wait...... Just how powerful are the ASVS redux empires supposed to be???

(I started reading the tech poll thread, but when they started explaining the ASVS STGOD story line, i got light headed and had to go lie down)

I will be back with the Hegemony. Though there will be a new, very old person within the hegemony with government powers aswell.

I'll be using the Republic of Nomadic Dresden. The Dresden evolved as a unified people much like our own. Then large groups of them began having an Empathy sense; the ability to read emotion and body language accurately as well as sensing the general atmosphere of a crowd accurately. The normals at first went about as always, then realized the danger to their jobs and privacy and contained them in concentration camps. Then as more and more of new births were empathy enhanced the normals began to banish them into space. The sense empowered took over asteroids where they found their sense worked better and at longer range. Soon several billion were making them selves at home among the smaller chunks of rock and making spaceships and an economy surpassing their planet bound brethren.

Back at the home planet the normals began to get scared because of the greater manufacturing capacity of those they had banished and build missile silos capable of hitting the bases where they were. The empaths responded by building great engines on their asteroids and moving them out of range. Now with an economy shattered because of gearing up for war and having no war come forth the normals realized another consequence of getting rid of those with empathic powers. The empaths had almost always been artists, scientists, engineers, and creative people. Now with out these eminent minds the normal society stuffed stagnation, both technological and cultural. Within a few short years the empathless society had spit into factions and bombed it self into the stone-age with near 90% casualties.

The empath society flourished. Not wanting to ever go back to full sized planets where their empathy sense was dampened, they began genetically modifying themselves to better suit living in low gee environs. Adopting a word meaning "out-lawed practices" as the name of this new species, the budding civilization began to strip down their solar system of all it's accessible resources. With their great economic power they began to build experimental ships that could exceed the light barrier as well as researching into opening gates to other planes of existence to get around the light barrier. With in ten years each project reached success at about the same time. The real space worked by contracting space around the vessel, but leaving the vessel un touched allowing it to cover the distance quicker. This was power intensive and easily disrupted by out side phenomena that the field couldn't contract. The other method was to open a gateway to a "hyperspace" which was already contracted. It was way cheaper to open a gateway once going in and once out then it was to keep one up at all times. The hyperspace method was also much faster then the warping method as well. One year after its first use the Republic of Nomadic Dresden began equipping all its asteroid clusters with hyperspace openers and together the twenty billion nation set off for the stars and hasn't looked back since.

Thus ends the history. I'll wright up the up to date stats soon along with numbers.

Do we need to come up with numbers this time???

Yeah we need solid numbers for weapon outputs and shields

Planetary strike weapons- 100 mt

Capship killers- 10 megatons for heavy weapons

Alyrium Denryle wrote:Missile weapons(or whattever you are going to use for heavy weapons) have a 100 megaton cap

For the rest, try to keep below 23 megatons
100 MT per shot???

Mine were a little under that, but there were usually alot of them

I'll just copy and paste my post from the nations thread and edit the weapon numbers if they are too high or too low.

oops sorry, I edited my post

That is Mt/sec and I added in an extra 0

And I got the order of magnitude wrong for the smaller stuff...

Then mine are way too high.

I'll just wait until a few others post their OOB's so i can get an idea of the average number of weapons on each ship

When are we going to start forming alliances and such??

Once everyones OOBs are posted.

Do we post OOB's in this thread???

I suppose we could post a few preliminary ones

I don't think we need the hard firepower numbers (they bogged down the last one far to much) so much as a mod, I assume Crayz will be modding?

And what will be the planetary numbers and OOB restrictions?

That is the problem, the first one didnt have hard numbers, so simply saying a ship was destroyed became way to fucking easy.

It unbalanced the game to the side of the attacker.

Part of that was just people being whiny. The worst disputes were simply people that designed shitty ships and bitched when some one treated them like it.

The other part was the agressive powers tended to be run by people that thought about their ships/tech.

The problem is, we need a way of comparing weapons to deenses, calling hits is bulshit, especially when someone jumps in and wipes out your entire fleet in a single exchange. We need to quantify ship weapons and shields for that reason alone.

The problem is it helped killed the last STGOD to work everything out in such detail. And it still doesn't help much with the unquantifiable aspects which were by far the bigger problem.
