[STGOD] The History of the Universe.

Post by The Duchess of Zeon »

In the Third Age of Mankind, Sauron was defeated in the Middle Earth and the Ring of Power cast down into Mt. Doom. After this, humanity went on to become great and powerful over the Earth, and the other races were cast aside; the very world was reformed by magic to suit humanity. Soon two peoples, distinguished by their language (and as they themselves would darkly later claim, race), competed for power--the Aryans and the Rama; the Aryans, who ruled from their gilded cities of Lemuria and Atlantis, and the power bases of the Ramans in the Indus valley of India and the island-continent of Mu. This was the fourth age of mankind, when pyramids harnessed the energy of magnetic fields and vimanas flew through the air according to understood astral principles.

Now, in the early days, combat was still ritualized from the legacy of the Third Age, and Mankind was yet relatively peaceful. Disputes were settled by a series of formal duels or "flower wars" if they came to blows--and so, as humanity spread out to the stars, there was never a really great war to settle possession of the Sol system, or of the surface of Earth. In this fashion half of the galactic territory of the Milky Way was divided up between the two nations and steadily colonized over a period of several millennia, and awesome advances in technology and psionics were made through the advanced understanding of higher integral multiversal physics that the Two Gilded States had, allowing them to pierce the veil of all time and space and indeed make "technology as magic".

Then came war. Alien powers banded together to oppose the expansion of the Gilded States; and when they checked Aryan expansion in one sector, the Aryans demanded that the Rama, also, not expand in a similiar region of space until they had defeated these usurpers of their naturally designated right of conquest. The Rama wanted the territory and proceeded. At first it was a mere ritual war; but it grew more serious, for the conflict with the alien powers was hardly ritual, but in deadly ernest--and seen as tacitly the same by the Aryan leadership in their golden palaces.

As the conflict became more and more violent, the weapons improved in capability to match it. Finally the Aryans fielded weaponry that could destroy whole planets through multiple-layered planetary shields, and the contest appeared to be their's. It was matched and overwhelmed by the Rama--who created genetically engineered beings capable of accessing certain astral fields to enhance their own powers, and to repair their own wounds. Beings, who, in time, would be remembered only as Gods, but for now were the warriors of a dark and horrible age. Now is was the Aryans who were driven back, until they too copied the advances of the Rama. Mutual slaughter was the result. Were it not for the final rest of the ritualists, that Earth should not see war, it would perhaps have ended much sooner: But for three thousand years the conflict lasted, until half the galaxy was ruined.

Of the final survivors, there was now destruction all around, and the slave races had revolted, eager for revenge against the stone-age remnants of humanity, and glorious, sole-remaining Earth. So, too, were a few mad warriors left: Gupta's men, the ones who could not stop fighting. They headed for Earth, and it was up to the Raman Nirrti, Nefirea, to stop them, with some Rama and Aryan forces that still remained. Gupta was defeated and thought killed with his men; but before he died a single salvo of shipkillers from a flight of Asvins got through and annihilated Terran civilization.

Those last technological survivors established a few remote bases, and did what they could to protect the remnants of humanity from the onrush of the various outside aliens. But on Earth arose a new power, hideous and evil, from the ashes of Aryan civilization. On the continent of Atlantis, proud, hate-filled, and using the astral knowledge of the Gilded States as never before, the Atlantean Kingdom tried to establish a grip on Earth. Nobody was quite sure how those who arose stopped them--or where they came from. Perhaps they were survivors of the moon colonies of the Rama or the Aryans themselves, who recalled those Astral powers only as a magical force.

Atlantis and her outposts were banished in the victory, the last changes to the geography of the Earth occuring then, and the reign of the Moon Kingdom began. It was to be thrown down in the due order of time, starting the latest of the ages of human history, that with which we are most familiar:

In the 20th century, the remnants of the Moon Kingdom fought a secret war with various evil Astral forces which threatened Earth, working towards the dream of a new "Silver Millennium". They, in their actions, however, attracted the attention of powerful forces which arrived from other dimensions or distant regions. The principle among these were outcasts from the overthrow Imperial regime of the Galactic Empire, or the Clarkists of Babylon 5, which had found this Milky Way as refuge when discovering long-distance transport anomalies.

The various Imperial factions and Republican groups sent to hunt for them, cut off from home, soon set themselves up over the local governments, though the paucity of resources and their own disorganization allowed such groups as the Klingon Empire to make alliances with them, becoming essentially the "manpower" behind these small forces. Earth was ravaged by war, and some terran groups fled with the new technology, establishing distant colonies. Others, however, stood firm under the leadership of the Senshi, who held out against the onslaught of the various factioons with their Astral powers.

Eventually the Senshi and their people--the Youma--themselves migrated from Earth towards the central regions of the galaxy, where a Star Kingdom under Queen Serenity was established, using the primitive ships of the region, but enhanced with thaumaturgical equipment that allowed them to stand up to the GE-equipment roaming the galaxy. Earth fell under the control of the United States of America, which with a patched together spacefleet managed to control local territory until it was subsumed into the United Terran Republic centuries later.

Transdimensional mercenaries roamed the galaxy, selling their services to whomever could pay for them, and war and destruction became completely commonplace. Then came the Boyd. The Boyd were founded by a South American Dictator, El Boydo, who fled from Earth during the "Time of Troubles" when the Imperial invaders were often having their way with sections of the planet, followed by a small band of followers. Somewhere in the Milky Way he discovered an Astral Intelligence and merged with it. This drove him completely insane, but allowed him to utilize the technology of the long-dead race that the Intelligence was from...And begin mass-cloning himself. Soon, the Boyd Collective was an unholy horde of force-linked hive-mind Clones that began to dominate large regions of the Delta Quadrant. The Borg wouldn't stand for it; but when they fought the Boyd Collective, they fought and lost.

The Boyd were now one of the most powerful nations in the Milky Way, and began allying with minor powers to further increase their strength.

Now, back in the Star Wars galaxy, a sinister occurance had happened. Daemons from the Warhammer universe had arrived in the remnants of the Galactic Empire, and begun to gather power there. They were Slaaneshi, and led by Lord Rog, they revitalized the Galactic Empire as the Second Galactic Empire, and with a thin overlay of Slaaneshi control to the still largely Imperial system, succeeded in conquering half of the New Republic's territory before the introduction of new technologies halted them. The people of the Second Galactic Empire were brought more and more under the control of the Cult of Slaanesh... Which, before long, followed up on now long-distant events to send ships through to the Milky Way and secure a region around one of the anomalies.

Unfortunately for the New Republic, its troubles were not over, for it was soon to become the target of another New Republic--one that, during the Vong Invasion, had fallen prey to the promise of Order over Democracy. The New Republic Military Dictatorship. In that sinister alternate universe, the New Republic had discovered MDD technology and, under the Dictator Wilkins, who's alternate was a General in the New Republic, had the will to use it. This hideous technology ignored any sort of energy defenses and was completely capable of turning any sort of material into slag iron; defences against it, however, would eventually be found, if limited.

In the Mainline, events great and horrific had occured. During one of the conflicts over Earth, a very old war had been renewed. The discovery that Gurkha was still alive, at least in the possessed body of Kynes, the declared Spirt of the Earth, prompted the arrival of Nefirea with a detachment of her hoarded forces. Her involvement against Gurkha in the Sol system led to his final destruction, and the freeing of Kynes to his destiny--the protection of Earth, which was ultimately done with the creation of a Universe Shield around it. Also during that conflict, the Sixth Imperium became involved; and it would later play a vital role in one of the greatest conflicts in history.

First, however, the alternate universe would intervene. Here, Imperial warlords--mostly the alternate versions of their selves who had interferred in the Mainline, except driven out of the universe where the NRMD had seized power--had built up power-bases in another Milky Way, and soon, as in our own history, Earth was torn with war. This galaxy was frought with civil war and vicious tension, and saw the first intervention of the Robotech Masters from their own universe into affairs, which was brief. Eventually, however, the instability of this universe attracted attention, and the powers of the Mainline intervened here to establish order, conquering most of the various regions as colonial holdings.

The Sixth Imperium's great moment came during the Transcend War, when the mad chaos god Trascend took over the Culture and led them on an interdimensional war of total destruction. The Sixth Imperium led various powers of the multiverse on the defence, and after defeating the Culture forces, counterattacked and destroyed the entire galaxy of the Culture, with Transcend being killed by Greater Gods who were annoyed with his behaviour.

Following this the NRMD grew increasingly paranoid over the ability of powers with interuniversal technology to attack them, and started a series of wars to defeat those powers and seize interuniversal gates, many focusing around the Nemesis Gate, with awesome casualties taken and inflicted in efforts to seize it from the SKS. During these times, the Vengeful Hegemony of Romulan Wrath, near Nemesis but always a traditionally poor state, ruled by one of the old Sith Warlords from the early "Time of Troubles" days who used his powers to extend his life, embarked on massive and ridiculous construction programmes that destroyed their economy but built up a sizeable (if outdated) military. Coupled with lunatic announcements of how they would use it, they soon attracted negative sentiment from nearly everyone in the multiverse.

Also around this time the Robotech Merchantile Empire arrived and began to gobble up minor systems in unclaimed space, fighting a brief war with the Galactic Protection Force over control of the alternate-Optera. They allied with the Boyd and participated in the final destruction of the VHRW, as did the latest arrivals of the Lost, a biological/nanite possession race.

The RME, however, was displaced through their anomaly by another power after only a short time: The USSSR. These space Soviets were Trotskyists who had defeated the Domination of Draka in their home universe only to discover that in another it had been victorious, and were fighting an interuniversal war with the Domination of Draka. The Domination itself responded by seeking out and making an alliance with the Second Galactic Empire. Other things also happened.

Then came the Halite invasion. Halite was the Grand Inquisitor of Queen Beryl of the Dark Kingdom of Atlantis, the traditional foe of the Moon Kingdom. She had made extensive preparations for the invasion and recruited huge hordes of space barbarians from several dimensions with offers of rich plunder in the Milky Way, and reactivated many old Fourth Empire Planetoids in the dimension which had held that nation, crewing them with a mix of Drow, unscrupulous psychics, trolls (of the lesser kind), and all sorts of vicious creatures.

Her invasion was at first successful, if costly--though she won one of the greatest victories in history in a single battle when she defeated the Raian Fleet at Third Yarmuk--but she was later repulsed as detailed in the prior document.

Other details of note should be the Vong invasion, finally eliminated by Halite; and also the reoccuring Troll invasions, of the Greater Variety. These emanate Bozon fields and are of an exceptionally dangerous type, as they cannot be engaged at close range. However, various methods have been developed for defeating them. Several other barbarian hordes that invaded the Milky Way included the Kzin and the Zerg, though the later are technically a hive intelligence.

There was the brief but tense New Corellian Missile Crisis, which would ultimately spark the Lost creating their Thousand Galaxy Protectorate. There was the dismal failure of the UN. That's about it as I recall.

Well here's my take on the history of my empires.

From time immemorial (sp?), Enigma went from one place to another finding ways to increase his powers. After untold number of centuries, he had gathered enough power to create a pseudo-universe. This pseudoverse was a carbon copy of the mainline except that in the pseudoverse, he fashioned himself an empire that would rival all others. Enigma named it the Psychonian Empire. But he took his time. For many more centuries this fledgling empire grew and grew. Eventually the Psychonian Empire was grown so vast in every way that no other power in the pseudoverse could challenge them. How could they, when an empire that can use stars as warships and it's technology based mages could exterminate planetary populations with only a hand gesture and a phrase? But it was not enough for Enigma and his empire. They yearned for more. And more they got. The Psychonians discovered the mainline and proceeded to outfit their ships with transdimensional drives and proceeded to make a foray into the mainline universe. Upon arrival, they made an alliance with the Boyd Collective and the Second Galactic Empire (That's Rog's empire right?), creating the Mars Pact. This Pact served to counter the Triumverate whom they saw as a threat. But again the Psychonians bided their time. Unfortunately, that also was part of their downfall. They took too much time. During that time they were beseiged by renegade battlestars that threatened to destroy the Psychonian Empire itself. And they almost did. About 30 percent of all inhabited worlds of the PE pershed, including the homeworld. But in the end the PE managed to defeat the renegades. Afterwards a more disastrous event happened. The pseudoverse itself was dying. Unable to reverse the entropy, unknown number of ships left the pseudoverse and began seizing territory among the mainline's Virgo Cluster of galaxies. Then they consolidated their resources and created a new entity. An empire run by organized crime named the Intergalactic Revenue Syndicate. This new power retained most of the technology of it's predecessor and a small percentage of it's military forces. But again old habits die hard. By the time Halite arrived, the I.R.S. became more of an isolationist power than an expansionist and heavily defended its borders. Years later, after Halite's war, the I.R.S. was able to create a pseudoverse of their own. Wanting to be left alone, 99% of the empire picked up everything and headed into the new pseudoverse. The ones that remained moved to the core of the Milky Way can created the Mafiosi. Unfortunately, they do not have the capabilities to recreate the warships of old, but to create new ones and to forge once more into the unknown.

As to Enigma? During that time, he continued to increase his powers to the point that he became one of the most powerful entities in existence. But he shares the same trait as the empire he once created. He bided his time. Until Sauron decided to return, so Enigma could personally exterminate him.

(I hope this is ok. Change anything you find necessary.)

Atlantis and her outposts were banished in the victory, the last changes to the geography of the Earth occuring then, and the reign of the Moon Kingdom began. It was to be thrown down in the due order of time, starting the latest of the ages of human history, that with which we are most familiar:
Hrm. A proposal here to shove this more in line with canon SM...

The fall of civilization throughout the Solar System was not totally complete. A few pathetic colonies survived - notably on the Moon, Mars and the Jovian moons. While Earth was ravaged by nuclear winter, the colonies rebuilt, slowly. It was long and arduous work, but in the end a new Solar government was formed under the Moon Kingdom. For a thousand years they would know peace; and the reign of the Moon would be known as the Silver Millenium. What little of the old Astral arts remained was now known as magic and it flourished.

But all things fall. Earth finally stabilized and her people - now hardy from the long winter - rebuilding, progress came quickly. The old arts were discovered, notably the Astral arts. They delved deeper than any other mage in the Solar System. By the time they lifted themselves upwards, they had begun studies into Astral plane projection - and studies into the darker realms.

The rest of the Solar System greeted Earth's people with celebration. Ambassadors were exchanged and soon the champions of Earth found love with the champions of the Moon. It was not to last.

On Atlantis, the sorceress Beryl had delved too deeply within the darker arts and realms of the Astral Plane. She became corrupted by the being known as Metallia, seduced by power, lusting after the Prince of Earth, who would not be hers. She then manipulated herself into power and then took control of Atlantis. Her armies began conquering the world - even the strongest armies were of little worth against Atlantis's dark arts and the newly engineered supersoldier, the Youma.

Beryl then managed to capture and turn four of Earth's greatest champions and with it, they key to the rest of the world. The Four Generals lent their knowledge of Terran warfare against troops once their own and won victory battle after battle. The Prince of Earth barely managed to escape; but by now the Moon decreed embargo on Earth.

Once the conquest of Earth was completed, Beryl turned her eye to the rest of the Solar System. She would conquer the Moon and then the rest. She had fatally miscalculated. Her forces completely destroyed the Army of the Moon and the Lunar Navy - all before the Martian and Jovian armies could marshal to invade Earth. Victory was near, but Serenity, in despair, unleashed the power of the Silver Crystal and banished Atlantis and Beryl's Army forever. The souls of Serenity's daughter and her court were sent foward in time to be reincarnated.

In doing so, the resulting magical pulse destroyed the frail magics that held Solar civilization together. A few survivors managed to reach Earth in what is now Egypt, but they were far and few apart. As for the rest on the planet, the release of magical energy triggered a new ice age.

A thousand generations later, when Mankind was once again reaching for the stars, Beryl finally managed to break her way out of her prison. Her invasion was resisted by the reincarnated court of Princess Serenity; eventually Beryl and her patron from the Astral Realm were were obliterated. The pocket reality which held Atlantis too was utterly destroyed, rent from space-time in irreparable ways. But a few survivors - those shrewed enough to understand what Beryl's war meant - left for Earth and their race survived. Princess Serenity offered the 'reformed' youma a new chance at life.

The further adventures of Sailor Moon and her Senshi in the late 20th century will not be eludicated.

Soon, Mankind's first primitive ships went to colonize the stars; Serenity, her court and the growing population of reformed youma left to create their own kingdom. Over time, the youma race became dominant: the advantages were too many not to "change over." A loose confederation was started, various other Terran colonies joining the new power.

It was not until the death of Serenity I that the Star Kingdom was formed.

A brief history of USENET Command.

After the fall of civilization, a few Raman colonies managed to survive partially intact, if barely clinging to survival. They vowed to keep the old rituals of war alive - for that, at least, had limited the general destruction of war until the very last one, when all tradition had been lost.

Eventually, this formalized into the so-called "Rules of War," almost exclusively dealing with surface combat. When the Earthbound Mankind went back to the stars, they encountered these mysterious humans. For reasons still not known, they were dubbed "USENET Command." Their command of the restrictions on war were iron-bound and so the wars that soon swept the sector resulted in relatively little harm.

The enforcers of USENET Command were known as Moderators - for they moderated the wars. Alas, during the time of the end of Gurkha and the liberation of Kynes, the Moderators almost completely disappeared. The reasons are unknown, but the results are well known. The rules of war lifted, the nations and peoples waged more bitter and devestating wars.

Rumours abound of a Great Pact signed between the remnants of the Ramans and the Spirits of the Planets that would regain some control to the endless wars of Man, but these remain only rumours.

Around this time the Outsiders of the Kzin universe, being a quite ancient race dedicated to pseudo-religious worship of a still more ancient (though dormant) species, attempted to test a plan to eliminate much of the life in the universe. Using an 'upgraded' clone of Pablo Sanchez, former leader of a minor power and relatively powerful Sith together with an advanced starship, they hoped to study the Mainline universe and find a way to cleanse the whole dimension of troublesome lifeforms. Sanchez did some mayhem in the galactic south, defeating several large fleets and destroying a number of worlds, but he was defeated by the Saturn Senshi (though not without seriously wounding her) and killed, his ship destroyed. During the melee the Jupiter Senshi went missing and her whereabouts remain unknown.

The Outsiders retreated to their home and gave up upon their earlier plan of extermination, preferring instead to seal off their reality and passively study what lay outside. Kzin excursions have ceased as a result.

I'll take care of the basics with enough flexibility to let you determine the specifics.

Well... I am going to go with a group of skilled psionicists that escaped oppression in the sdSTGOD mk 2 universe when war broke out between the human nations(WW3) early in the history of interstellar travel.

If you could work them into your history I will love you forever(in a completely platonic fashion, and even though we agree on practically nothing)

Hrmm. I was originally thinking of putting you in the STGOD1 universe as a seperate country (as opposed to a breakaway), but that may be possible. Let me see, once I get some more of these other countries' data in.

Well, either one works. But it doesnt make sense to have them as a seperate human power in the STGOD 1 universe. Either way works, and whatever is easiest on you works for me. As either way, the history I have planned works....

I believe the SCEF would fall under the people who fled Earth with new Galactic Empire technology.

Note that the following was written around 2001, and hasn't been really tweaked since. I finally found the folder that I had all my developmental ASVS-AA stuff in (thank God I didn't delete it by accident like I thought I had) so maybe I can finish reworking and combining this stuff with the UTR data that Kyle sent me.

Read it and laugh or whatever.

The SCEF controls an area of the Milky Way roughly the size of the Corporate Sector, containing approximately ten thousand stars, five hundred member worlds and one thousand colonies. Its fleets are comprised of almost nine thousand warships of varying sizes and classes. But despite its size, it had fairly humble beginnings in the 20th century of Earth.

In the mid 1930s, a group of individuals formed a small underground organization called TPMSC. They were a diverse group, with people of varying races and professions. And at first it might have seemed that they would never get past that initial stage.

The Great Depression proved otherwise. It had the effect of both weaving the founders into a cohesive nucleus, and at the same time bolstered membership. But that led to a question - where could they meet with so many people?

The result was to excavate a network of underground chambers beneath the various mountain ranges of Southern California. The network provided both a secure meeting place for the members as well as living facilities for those who had lost their belongings in the Depression. And with the cooperation of local churches of various denominations, it again experienced a growth spurt.

But the Depression eventually came to and end, and following close on its heels was another calamity - World War II. At first it caused the membership to grow into the thousands, and the network was expanded. Then, America declared war on Japan. Fearing reprisals from overzealous patriots, many Japanese joined the organization and literally went underground, while younger members of the organization went off to fight for their country.

It was during this period of time that the first breakthrough was made. In one such expansion of the underground network, an artificial object was discovered beneath a valley of the San Bernardino Mountains. It was a Corellian Corvette.

The engineers immediately began excavation of a chamber around the crashed spacecraft, which surprisingly was not as damaged as some might have thought, given that radiocarbon dating on some artifacts inside proved it to be several hundreds of thousands of years old. But they were unable to do anything more than simply clean it up, as its technology proved to be completely incomprehensible. And so it would remain for nearly twenty years.

In the 1960s, they finally began to understand the mysterious spacecraft. Although the electronics of the day were primitive compared to what was aboard the craft, it did not prevent them from replacing certain damaged components and generally effecting repairs. It was then that they discovered the principal of the repulsor.

By 1969, the engineers were finally able to fly the spacecraft. They turned the chamber into a hangar, and flew the ship out. Then, oddly enough, the ship's autopilot kicked in. It took the team into hyperspace, propelling them through a wormhole.

While at Earth the rest of TPMSC had resigned to thinking the team was lost, the team of engineers found themselves in an entirely different galaxy, where they came into contact with a civilization older than the ship: the Galactic Republic. The ship was taken in and repaired, and several Jedi returned with the engineers to Earth.

When they arrived back, they found that things had dramatically changed although only several months had passed. Due to a freak mishap on the part of the United States involving an accidental missile launch, nuclear war had broken out, leaving a good portion of the world a radioactive mess. But the underground network of TPMSC had once again proved a lifesaver, as a large portion of the population of Southern California had been taken underground before the mishap.

Once again, the makeshift crew of the Corvette returned through the wormhole to ask for assistance, which was provided in the form of several dozen city-sized transports. Now indebted to the Republic, the teams returned to evacuate the refugees, which led to the new name of the organization: the Southern California Evacuation Force.

In space, their first stop was Sirius, where temporary bases were established on the several burned-out planetoids. The Republic transports returned, although several Jedi remained behind to watch the progress of the colony, and gradually the government of the SCEF took shape, modeled somewhat after the federal system of the United States.

Over thirty years later, in 1993, the colonies were thriving - and needed somewhere to expand. Again, the lone Corvette made another trip through the wormhole, but its crew found that the galactic landscape had changed. The Republic was no more, having been replaced with the Empire and then New Republic, which was at war with the Second Galactic Empire. Despite this, the representatives from the fledgling Quaynar Industries, Inc, formed deals with several corporations, among them Incom, Kuat Drive Yards, and Rendili StarDrive. The deals involved the exchange of technology, as well as supply agreements from the ship manufacturers. In exchange, the SCEF representatives agreed to pay for the technology with raw materials.

Now, Quaynar Industries was able to begin work on several asteroids which they intended to use as temporary transports for the Southern California refugees. Hyperdrives were fitted, turbolasers were added, and sensors were upgraded. The first ship was christened the SNT Centurion, and nicknamed a "battlemoon" by the KDY personnel.

My history-

God-Woke up, was groggy did a couple miracles, and a bunch of mass murder, went back to sleep. Just woke back up to find his finely crafted universe in shambles, and decided to do some house cleaning.
