Civil War Game Recommendations

Post by Stravo »

I guess spending yesterday and today watching Gods and Generals (Did I mention it was long?) has inspired me to play a game that is a GOOD Civil War setting game in the vein of Medieval war or other war game. Anyone recommend a good one that I won't have to sit down with a manual as thick as a history on the Civil War to learn it?

Hmm... Gettysburg and Antietam are pure gold, though they may be a bit smaller scale than what you're looking for. You can get the old Robert E. Lee: Civil War General (IIRC that's what its called), which is a traditional hexagonal war game, but again it focuses on single battles at one time.

I understand there's some new game in the works that tries to replicate the entire Civil War from start to finish in 3D.
