How do I do a system restore? The more I'm trying to explore my computer after the patch fiasco.. the more FUCKED up it is!!

Unless your computer manufacturer supplied an auto-restore CD to return back to factory defaults, then you're up the creek. Best you could do I guess is to break out the Windows CD and back everything up, then go from there.

How'd you get this patch? Windows Update?

Right click on my computer, click properties then go to the System Restore tab.

What type of computer is it?
Also, the restore thing might also be a 3 1/2 inch disk.

No, we're referring to WME or WXP's built-in system restore (which he hopefully has).

Have you attempted booting into safe mode?

Alright....

Start>All programs>Accessories>System tools>System Restore.

follow that order and you will find what you seek...pick the earliest date you feel comfortable with before you installed that pos patch
