Does anyone know a Quake 3 player who goes by the screenname "Neo" ?

I was on a server with about 12 people, playing Instaunlagged railgun-only CTF (with friendly fire ON, for god knows why--but it was interesting for a change). I was on red and we were doing okay, score was like 42 to 40 (I came in during the middle of the game).

Except that this Neo guy kept on intentionally fragging our team. And it was blatantly obvious too (not to mention that his shooting skills frankly sucked, but still killed some of us).

Eventually we, the red team, got sick and tired and began fragging him on sight. He got all whiny and said something like, "Well it looks like I'll have to don the ugly blue suit" and he went over to the blue team.

Thank goodness......or so we thought.

Neo switches back over to our team. Apparently he shapes up, getting about two flag captures for us, although some of my teammembers were still pretty POed and fragged him occasionally. He kept on saying, "Don't get mad, get glad." Everyone told him to shut up and he'd say, "Why get mad?"

So anyway, our team wins (yay!

) and I, once again, get the highest score out of everyone in the server ( *ego inflates*

). We start a new game and Neo immediately rails the teammates closest to him (me included).

The new game goes on for a while until suddenly the server burped and a whole bunch of people got kicked, IIRC. After that I just left. Oh yeah, and the blue team camped a lot, but we won anyway. My motto is, "Camping does not pay!"

What is the moral of this story?

There are people in this world who are perfectly willing to slay their own teammates in order to gain attention. Yep...what a bright thing to do.

They do suck, but the one I hate is when 2 people join your team, and just kill each other, ignoring everyone else.

On the DoD server I regularly go to, 5 TKs gets you a 24 hour autoban from the server, and a knife TK will autoslay you.

But on the subject of idiots:
Background story - this is SWG, and about three weeks or so ago this guy, "Ixidor Ixidor" shows up. He's pretty damn stupid and for god only knows why starts thinking of me as his hero (being the local Imperial garrison has its perks and drawbacks. Mostly drawbacks). He praises me continually for "saving him" when he and his dumbass group ran halfway across the planet and started shooting at very large, very nasty critters. So I told him to run his ass off and I did the same after he dragged me out there crying for help. Whatever. Anyways, a few days later and sitting around in town and he's bugging me like usual, I put up with him, I'm generally tolerant of all but most horrid of morons. Then I spot a couple Rebels hopping off at the local shuttleport. Shit, I think, and I grab my blaster. We get in a firefight and this goddamn Ixidor guy hangs around. I don't remember the situation very well, it was a minor incident nearly a month ago but I believe I said something to effect of "Get the fuck out of the way, you can't help." It was blunt and it was true, he was a civilian and couldn't do anything. Apparantly he took personal offence at what amounted to his own fault (he could have dedicated some time to joining the Empire) and I never saw him since. Until today. I saw a Rebel running around, god knows where he came from, but he was there, and with Ixidor. I call for backup and a large Wookiee guy with a large swords comes to help me out but we're both blasted by the Reb. I'm laying there incapacitated while the Wookiee is off chasing the guy when Ixidor comes up and kills me (the faction/PvP system is a bit buggy at the moment in relation to covert faction members). So at this point I realize he joined the Alliance. We have a discussion about it later (he's still covert, I couldn't have shot him) and apparantly he went off to Tatooine for two weeks building up his skills and helping the Rebels. He said he'd been hunting me all that time and joined the Alliance because of that event three weeks ago. I told him he was a goddamned cowardly 9-year-old. We had a conversation through /tells later:

ixidor: i have to go to bed school you see.....i will be back for you later
rathnan: Im sure
ixidor: yeah my first day of highschool today
rathnan: Ah
ixidor: and how old are you?

ixidor: us 2 arnt that different....maybe we would have been friends on diffrent cirucmstances

rathnan: I may only be 16, but im not an infantile high school brat

Where the hell do you find these people? I mean, really, maybe I just have good luck, but I don't end up playing with people like the Q3 person or the SWG kid. Occasionally on CS I get people who accuse me of hacking and start whinining(to which I reply "make a demo and send it to an admin if you believe I'm hacking, whining to me won't help you at all"-I have it bound to the "]" key), but I haven't gotten anyone like those in a LONG time.

BTW I only play with FF off. Shoot a teamie, and all that happens is he gets knocked FLYING! He'll see stars and birdies from the sudden shift in his perspective, but he'll be perfectly ok. Me and my boys at <-gLu-> have become quite adept at this, and we call it 'Boosting'. The trick for real range is to make sure your boy is in the air on a ballistic trajectory heading to the general direction of the enemy base, and skeet-shoot him along, like you would an enemy fighter trying to Scud his way in. You do this right, and you can land five trigger-happy teamies in your enemy's flag room in seconds! The enemy won't know what to make of the whole other team raining out of the sky onto his flag! It's also fun to blast your teammates outta harm's way (say helping your FC with a little push back to base) as well....

I remembered one time in SC this guy bsed us in some UMS. When we nearly killed he said Why? and became civil real fast. When we finished him he disconnected. Then someone said: I wonder if he knows UMS losess don't counts as points.

Edit: I ment UMs, heh. I'm obessed with UPS because some books haven't arrived

I was playing this one guy in Starcraft: Broodwar. He kept stupidly saying shit like 'I make bling bling', like he was some rapper or something. Next, he makes a ridiculous move- we're on Lost Temple, he expands to a new main before he takes his natural! He was protoss, I was terran. All I had to do to beat him was mass siege tanks, drop on his natural, and push into his new main. In other words, he was horrible.

Oh wait, I'm thinking of Lennox :-p

I could tell you about a few nights back about someone who waes claming to be seventeen, had decided that after three years of study(Meaning he started when now?) that Anarchism was the way to go and it was the "most advatced form over goverment"

That was a fun thirty minutes ending with him slaping the old /ignore on the OOC channel

Not to say I did not have help(Around eight other people jumped in as well)
