I just recently downloaded this Free game and I was wandering wether or not this first-person shooter that costed 10 Million in Tax payer dollars to create is really worth it to play?

It's a more realistic than average FPS. The long wait times after death combined with the ease with which you die ruined it for me.

I thought it was okay, but it was really overtaxing my computer so I don't have much of an option. As for the cost, I'd prefer to see ten million go to create and distribute a game as a recruitment ploy to get peoples mailing addresses then to go to the tens of billions of pure pork in every budget.

I think its great. The recent addition of combat medics makes it even cooler.

Sorry for the necromancy, but I thought i'd bump it to bring it to the attention of the WW.
Oh.My.God.
This thing is Very, VERY realistic. I D/L and played it last night, from the orders and slang used to the firing position and the realism of the weapons it's damn near as deadly accurate as you can get. Doing the marksmanship training reminded me just what a pitiful shot I still am with the M-16. And you even get to sit through boring, badly powerpointed slide-enhanced classrooms! I found myself almost having my guy stand up and go to the back of the classroom to stay awake! (Those of you who went through military classroom things know exactly what I mean.) The targets looked JUST like ivans, and even responded like them! the sight pictures you must obtain are accurate, the weapon sound, kick, the breath wobble while standing being much more pronounced than when prone, and even the qualification standards are the same!
The MOUT operation part is good as well, though I always used MILES gear. and I blinded my guy with the flashbang. while playing this game, I felt very, VERY nostalgic. was it worth 10million dollars? No. Is it cool? Yes. does it have potential (For modders.) Yeah, if they let you.
the only problem I have with it is the fact that it's openly available and it IS very accurate. Loose lips sink ships and all....

I recently deleted it. The size of the necessary updates was too high (I have limited bandwith per month: 3 gigs).

Vympel, if you're on Telstra Cable like I'd assume from that cap, you can download the files from the Telstra GameArena download area, without it counting towards your bandwidth limits.

This is Australia. They don't exist. 3GB is considered a fairly decent rate. You can get higher downloads on ASDL than with Cable if you know what you're doing (You still have a fairly low cap, however you generally get uncapped downloads from any other ADSL users in the peering network in your state, so a lot of file sharing goes on), but you have to put up with usually at least half the speed on your downloads.
Vympel, so you don't have to go crawling through the slow file tree, here's a direct link to the AA downloads. You'll need a GameArena account though.

Also, GameArena run an official AA server. If you play your games on that, using COGS, those won't count to your download cap either.

As a player, download the FULL thing, it has better preformence, also, don't be suprised if in Special Forces training, the PC LAGS, they currently have some preformance problems, mostly in SF maps
