Tribes 2 Issue

I'm a cheap bastard, knowing this let us continue. I decided that while down in arlington, i'd get the best seller edition of tribes 2 for 10$ bucks. After all, i've heard its a good game and my computer should be more than able to handle it. Upon loading on my uncles computer, I find that i can't play it because all the letters show up as blocks, unphazed I take it home with me only to recive this error message every time i try and play unhandled exception at 0000005 at adress 00000000. I'm running a p4 at 1.6 gigahertz on a dell 4300 s with winblows xp home edition as my operating system. I downloaded the first aid utility and quite a few files show up as failed but thats probably because the best seller edition includes mods and patches so that i'm not worried about. Any help or ideas would be appreaciated.

Fire up the event viwer start/run/eventvwr.msc

See if there is any errors in the application log and post error msg here.
