You pick players from a sport and put them into a team, and then as the season progresses you get more points based on your players statistics.

I see. So it's one of those "non-games" (as in non-participation), right? ;)

Not ragging on what's probably an enjoyable way to spend your time, it's just when I hear about fantasy sports, I think of my Son of a Bitch roommate from freshman year, who played fantasy baseball. I just never really knew what it was.

Don't really have time...I'm too busy with the real thing (and I can't fucking wait for next Saturday).

No, I'm not an actual football player (in fact, that thought is a funny one). I just love to watch college ball, and it's starting up in a week.

I'm studying for the CPA exam. Have a nice summer, and if you're down just sit back and realize that Joe is off somewhere, doing much worse than you are.

Well, it won't be long before training for my team, University Wildcats, starts again. Lets go for 10(?) years straight with the Cup!

Oh, and can we use the NFL.com fantasy system instead?

I'm used to it, and I prefer the system too.

Thats why I prefer the NFL draft system, but be damned if they don't want me to pay 15 US for the priviledge.

Fuck them.

Yeah, I won't play a league that costs money, since I'm just in it for fun.

Got my team, came in 40,000 TSND under the salary cap. Two players are gambles: one I'm hoping will regain a position he lost, and the other's a rookie who I think will get play time (he was cheap).

Is there any way to see who each manager has drafted?

Yeah, but I don't think it comes into effect until after the season has begun because player prices are still locked, and you have a n unlimited amount of trades.

Has anyone heard any news on Thrash? I don't have him, but his status could affect a couple of my other players, and I heard a bit about him possibly being injured.

Phew, thought for a minute I might loose some serious money after Pennington's injury. But the price are indeed locked, and I can put this to a reorginazation of my team.

QB:
Dante Culpepper - good starting choice, good receivers and also tends to get a lot of ground yards.

Quincy Carter - backup QB, bit of a gamble.

RB:
Jerome Bettis - need I say anything more?

Jamal Robertson - rookie who will hopefully get some gametime.

WR:
Randy Moss - double points day, because I'll get points for his TDs under Culpepper, and vice-versa, as well as yards.

Bruce Isaac - another great receiver and definate go-to-guy for the Rams. I should be guaranteed good yardage and TDs.

D:
Baltimore - I'm a Baltimore fan and I'm hoping their D will be a little more stingy this year.

Mine as of now is:

QBs:

Brett Favre: Saw some good stuff on him, he is preforming well despite age, and he has some good recievers.

Vinny Testaverde: Cheap Price, a starter now, looked good against the Giants, and has a couple good recievers. Still a bit of a gamble.

Rbs:

Curtis Martin: Need I say more?

Mike Alstott: Cheap, in a west coast offense, and a starter. has some good stats, and I like him.

WRs (thinking of using the extra million I have to buy a better one)

Eddie Kennison: Seems okay, cheapness was of the utmost importence, but has good stats.

Quentin McCord: For a little under 2 mil with seemingly solid stats can you go wrong?

D

Tennesee: 3rd for total points scored, and yet in the lower half of the price controls. I might sell them for the giants though.

A friend and I who usually play Fantasy Football came up with a theory once that anyone with Lewis or Jamal as their name (first or last) will end up being a great player. Hence some of my choices. Gotta love unfounded supposition.

Meh, I'm already doing one.

Are there any sites that give tips about how to pick good players? :D

QBs:

Tom Brady: Solid choice without being extremely expensive

Koy Detmer: I'm betting on McNabb not lasting the season

RBs:

Ricky Williams: Always a decent runner, I think this year he'll be big

Jerome Bettis: I'm betting on him getting his starting spot back

WRs:

Isaac Bruce: Duh.

Billy McMullen: Rookie who made some good plays in pre-season. For $500,000, I'll take a gamble on a 4th WR

Def:

Philadelphia: Playing TB week 1. They may not win, but TB doesn't score a lot.
