Yes, my virus definitions are up to date, when I use the program (I have a 120GB hard drive and 21GB are occupied it will go along, detect a few virus's then a screen will pop up asking me what I want to do with each, this is where it freezes, stops responding, (ever had a crash that was bad the only way you could restart was to pull the plug and put it back in?)

If your computer became infected with a virus somehow (perhaps before you installed the virus scanner?), then it will interfere with that virus scanner. Many of the common viruses fuck up virus scanners as their first order of business.

Windows Rot did in my anti-virus. Had to debug and reinstall Windows to fix the $*#^ thing.
