Post your (Sim) Cities

This is the creatively named New City, a bustling little town of about 900,000. It's built on a collection of wards, each with a main street with expanding circles of roads out from the center and a heavy commercial center. Rings of greenery keep land values high. There are also several concentrated commercial zones, such as the one in the picture.
When it reached 300,000 I ran into a bit of a unique crisis: my city would not grow, despite the fact that there were thousands of avandoned buildings waiting for re-development! (The abandoned buildings came from the fact that when my power plants exploded I was usually running my computer overnight with the simulator running. I woke up one day to find my city totally abandoned and about $70,000 in the red. I took out about ten bonds to pay off that one). It slowly became apparent that the culprit was actually the high land values, which discouraged new residents from moving in. I solved the problem by bulldozing about a hundred parks.
Despite its size, crime is fairly low, due no doubt in part to the massive amount of recreational areas. Education and health are currently the highest in the nation, and everything is sustained at a tax rate of about 2 percent.

I'd post a pic of mine, but I seem to have misplaced my SimCity 3000 disk. Dammit.
Well, for now, just imagine half the map covered in apartments, and two roughly equal-width colums of clean industy and commerce (the northern half is mostly medium, and the southern half is almost all skyscrapers). There's only a very small amound of water on the south side.
The City is Rivendell, population ~1.5 million as of the 24th century, iirc. Crime is non-existant, the only notable problem is availability of mass-transit (it's massive enough as it is, and adding new stops is a pain).

That's a pretty nice town you've got there!
I built a city that consisted of three or four islands which all had a town that would function indepentently of the other islands (in case an earthquake or something would destroy the bridges). I think it had around 500 000 residents or something. I'd post a pic of it but a friend has borrowed the game...

Way back when I had SimCity 2000, I built up this one city, the name of which I have forgotten
, which basically filled almost every single square on the map. I had something like 4 Fusions powering the city. Crime rate was medium in some places, but then again it was a true metropolis.
The population was at least over a million and later on I had all four arcologies too.

Best City I ever had. Sim City 2000. I had a powerhouse industry. Their was a river going through the city. On one half was housing and industry. After a long time I had enough money to turn the other half of the map into Airport/seaport and a few arcologies with many fusion plant. After a long time I hust got bored and started riots alot. But they were put down do the fact that I had a huge amount of police.

SimCity 2000, SNES version:
Tampa II. Yes, I was uncreative with that.
It was a nice city, population of a few thousand or so. Nothing too big or whathaveyou. It ran on it's own, was generating money, all that good stuff.
Then I "discovered" the Disaster control panel...

Build enough "Launch Acrologies" in Simcity 2000 and you get to see them "launch".

The Arcologies will disappear in a cloud of smoke. You get refunded your cash but they all go bye-bye as they go into space or something.

Evidently, your governemnt zone isn't too happy...
Anyway, I was gonna make an SC2k version of Midgar. I thought it'd be cool. Alas, I never got around to it.
I won't on SC3k. I think the new design for the Fusion plants looks too shitty. Well, compared to the nifty one in SC2K anyway.
And why oh why can I not make a decent looking waterfall in SC3K??

Here's my SC4 region as of two weeks ago. If you look at ksc4.jpg through ksc8.jpg, you can see my region in various stages of development.
Anus Town is the a commercial powerhouse, boasting over 700,000 Sims and nearly 650,000 commercial jobs, with three international airports. The heavy industry of the region is located to the north, in the aptly, if unimaginatively named, sprawl that is Industryville. Ringing the central metroplises are a number of suburbs, ranging from quiet hamlets to well-developed communities. Currently, plans are in the works for a bay bridge to be built to the west of Anus Town. Regionwide population goal is 6 million on the current landform.

Impressive. Oh, and nice naming conventions, Anus McGee.

My region as of a few minutes ago. I raised an island so as to bridge the gap effectively, and believe you me, traffic is a nightmare on those bridges!

You do realize that with "Rush Hour" you could just add an ungodly number of Ferries and they will conect to any city on that body of water. I'm planning on building a region around the DelmarVa penninsula and just ferrying all my sims around for the hell of it.

I saw Sim City 4 and the new expansion pack for sale at Fry's for the same price I paid for Sim City 4 a month ago. Dangit! Oh well, Ive been too addicted to Fallout to play any.
