I can't run ScanDisk

It gets to a certain point and then stops on the Through selection. Scandisk in DOS tells me that there are a bunch of bad sectors in about the same place. Occasionally, these bad sectors screw up my computer and I have to restart. What do I do?

Get Norton Disk Doctor. Scandisk sucks amazingly bad at repairing stuff.

Make sure there are no running programs in the background (ala antivirus), then rerun the scandisk. Or diskdoctor...

This is very true Scandisk once did more damage to my HD once. I bought Norton Utilities because of it.
