wow ok nevermind..

my HEADPHONES, apparently, have something fucked up with the wires that is causing it.. i dont know how the fuck its selectively removing the voices, but i know its the headphones cause i can correct the problem by bending the cord a certain way. I find it very odd that cord damage can do this...

I've gotten the same and similar things by fiddling with how far I plug in the headphones jack into my CD player.

How the fuck is that possible? Voice elimination usually requires some processing. Seriously, the songs sound slightly muffled but the VOICES are practically GONE. Thats some crazy shit. Maybe it has to do with creating a circuit in the iPod with a virtual capacitor (seperating the two conductors connecting to the jack) that only oscillates at certain frequencies.. or something.. that makes no sense tho cause it should only work on one circuit, and would be very hard to maintain. gah. crazy shit.
