Securing Windows XP.

Step 1: Install Linux.
Step 2: Spend hours fucking with Linux and trying to set it up.
Step 3: Get fucking fed up with Linux and all the "RTFM!" responses you're getting on Linux message boards and IRC chats.
Step 4: Reinstall Windows XP.
Step 5: Continue with normal tutorial.

Sorry, had to do something aside from the standard Linux plug. :)

Don't waste your time. I have a one-step guide to securing Windows XP:

1) Disconnect your modem.

Trust me, it's the only foolproof way.

Windows settings + Firewall + virus scanner + spyware killer + common sense and caution.
