Not much of a surprise really, that IE has security flaws, but reading that list was still a bit of a shocker, there had to be at least a dozen flaws that allowed arbitrary command execution....

Ugh. I only use IE for certain IE-only websites now.

Can you set a 'General.Useragent.Override -=> String Value -=> Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 5.0; Windows XP) Opera 6.0 [en]' in your about:config to defeat even those? :) I believe they only check your useragent string to determine if you're using IE or are one of us Enlightened Ones.

BTW is the ByteVerify Sploit anywhere on there? I've seen spyware installed through it...

btw, if its not there you can add it by typing "about:config" and then right-click and select "Add", select "String" and go from there. (I actually had no idea that was there until I read this thread. :D)

Certain websites won't properly render in Mozilla Firebird or they utilize ActiveX for some function or another.

My useragent is Notepad 1.0.0.1 on the C64...

Firebird is sorta fun :)

Well, since I only use IE:

-- for stuff I don't want my wife to see
-- have ActiveX disabled completely
-- have file-sharing and printer-sharing completely turned off
-- avoid downloading plug-ins if I can help it

and I never use IE for any credit card transactions (which are what, maybe 2 in the past 5 years online?), I figure I'm reasonably safe with IE.
