Jedi Accademy is released tomorrow. I was in Game today and as i know the manager i was able to see the game running, though the cow wouldn't let me take it home. It looks fantastic. Get it. It'll be worth every penny.

The storyline sucks monkey balls, but apart from that it our does Jedi Outcast by far. I'd also say that it is a bit too easy, "Jedi Master" has the 50 life cap as a nuisanse, but apart from the end of game boss there ain't much challenge even at that level.

Been playing it all weekend. It gets very easy once you have a doublebladed saber. Nothing gets through the defence. Even if the acrobatocs made me fall of ledges a couple of times
. I chose to go lightside but once i complete it i'll kill the wee fucker and go dark. I wanna kill Kyle and make Skywalker my bitch.

That's the spirit! Don't forget Chewbacca!
On topic: JA looks good, and everything i've heard about it indicates that it is superior to JK2. (Though come to think of it, the guy I asked thought that Jedi Knight 2 sucked pretty badly...)

I got it Friday. Once I got level 3 force grip I started running around levels throwing everyone off ledges.
Oh yeah, and the swoop level sucked donkey balls.

You, sir, are a heretic.
I spent hours on that level jousting with mercs with my lightsabre out, slicing their swoops apart and watching them haul ass into mountainsides.
That was a cool level.
Also - and if this does not qualify as hilarious game imbalance, nothing does - you can use the Tauntaun CHARGE move on Hoth to take out the AT-ST. Death of an armored vehicle by repeated Tauntaun headbutts. There you go.

I loved it- I've finished it, but I'm playing it again.
Complaint: when you choose to go to the Dark Side, your lightsabre stays the same color. That sucks. The only reason I went to the Dark Side was to have the red sabre.

Played the demo, lots of fun playing with the dual sabres... Especially when it comes to sabre locks.

I'll throw in my two cents now I guess:
SP: The single player campaign, while short, is pretty solid. You do some missions of your choosing, then when you complete one set the plot advances and you get more force powers. After a while, you then get the option to upgrade to dual sabers, light-staff etc. There is also the option of a light/dark side ending, but how you reach it is kind of a put off. You'll see if you play it.
I found myself not only wanting to beat SP for the story, but also because it was a real fun campaign. Not very many puzzles, just non-stop lightsabre action with regular grunts being pushed off ledges. This is a step from J-O because I hated the SP campaign, and only really played it because I wanted to know what the Hell the Shadowtrooper was and the "goofy tribal chick" later named Tavion.
Spoiler:Tavion's model looks much more badass in JA.
MP: Only played a little, but siege is fun. Think UT Assault, but with character classes TFC style. Other than that it's about the same as J-O, except more moves and some real powerful ones (that will be nerfed soon no doubt). Oh and there's a new power duel. I haven't tried it yet, but someone was telling me it's like 2vs1 but with some special rules. I'll have to try it out someday.

No. You're thinking of Knights of the Old Republic. Jedi Academy is a very different game.

Neat game, I really like that you get to customize the looks of your character in the beginning, of course I had to play the chick with the least possible clothing, to bad they thought about that when playing at Hoth, would have been fun seeing a female Twi´Lek in a bathing suit in the middle of Hoth..... though I do miss not playing Kyle.
As for too easy once you get the upgrade of the saber? Try playing on Jedi Master, its not that easy anymore.
Force Powers:
Well, why the heck would one want to use the darkside powers, besides Force Grip, they suck. Absorbation, Protection and Heal, are IMHO much better investments.
Weaponry:
Besides from the lightsaber, the Merr-Sonn sniper was extremly handy (like it was in Jedi Outcast) and I also liked the Shouker(?) concussion grenade launcher. The Demp-2 gun was IMHO only usefull on one level.
And I agree the Swoop level rocked, never had so much fun using my lightsaber. Somehow reminded me of medieval jousting.
I have played through the light campaing, time to try out the dark side

I ran in to the same bug once. I used the no clip cheat (open the console and type
devmapall to activate the cheat mode and then type
noclip to activate the no clipping mode).

Maybe in your game. I was able to get beat the mission in mine without using the cheats. I think there was a switch that affected the door or something. Might try Force Sense.

An upgraded Force Grip is useful against the bosses. As well as those flying bastards on the mining platform. Keeps them from firing.

I was able to complate the mission normaly twice, I only encountered this problem on the third go (at Jedi Master difficulty) and AFAIK I did everything just the same as on the first two times. I think it's a bug of some sort.

No bug here...just waltzed through the level...
And I concur with those above...the Tauntaun and Speeder levels rocked!

Did you have to turn up the sensitivity for the mouse in the speeder level?
It was weird with mine.
