Corrupt file

I've got a file on my computer that I'm trying to delete but whenever I try, my computer tells me the file is in use but I know it's not. In addition, the file is way bigger that it's supposed to be. I've run a virus scan on it and it came up negative, so at this moment I'm inclined to believe it's been corrupted. Suggestions?

It's not named PAGEFILE.SYS or WIN.386, is it?

No, It's a .avi file.

WinDDoS Explorer likes to RUN THE FILE when you click it. It's all about that preview function in the left side of the Explorer window. Try setting your folder view to the 'Classic' option instead of the 'Web' option...

Also I have a theory as to why this doesn't happen on every .avi. The file in question may have some embedded Javascript or VBScript that's silently executing. Fucking evil. Push comes to shove, reboot in DOS or use a CMD window and kill the bugger from that.

I rebooted in Debug mode and I was able to remove it. I'm checking the rest of my system to see if the file did any damage. Thanks for the help you guys.
