Ok, first off, security holes in OpenSSH and sendmail, so get patches from your vendor.

RH development going to be more open, and the next version "Cambridge" will not be boxed (whatever, I don't use RH anyway).

ReiserFS4 is "just about ready". I might install it... I don't know, depends on whether I can test it on a loopback device concurently with Reiser3.

HCF winmodem drivers for 2.6 finally released. Now I can upgrade (and 2.6test4 is required for reiser4 anyway). So I don't have to buy HW modem after all... And it's been debianized (Yay!). I'll upgrade to 2.6 when I finish downloading all these packages, and some stuff from Debian.

I'll have to debianize the nVidia drivers myself, since the ones on the archive are outdated and dont' have patches for 2.6 applied.

OH, FUCK, you now have to pay for the driver.

Looks like I will have to skip lunch for a couple of days then... I don't like asking parents for money; need to get summer job next year

Otherwise I will be limited to 14.4kbps, even worse than 26.4. Argh.

It's 15$. Anyone with broadband willing to sell me a used hardware modem for that price (Sure, it costs 100$, but you aren't using it anymore..., though you could sell it on ebay :? )? Otherwise I'll have to use Windows (ack!), or the home network via the not-always-on windows computer upstairs, meaning my sister could cut my internet connection at any time...

And to think I could have gotten a free license if I posted on the mailing list 10 times... sigh.

Damn winmodems to hell.

Thanks... though I am considering getting the driver, for the v.92 capabilities. However, there isn't call notification software for linux, yet (I believe Linuxant might be working on it), so v.92 is moot for now. I should probably get enough money by the end of the week.
