For Windows(XP/2k) that is, anyone know any good programs like that?
I'm browsing sourceforge but there's so much stuff to look through and I haven't had any luck yet.

Not what I was looking for, and it seems to have some trouble with the USB writer I use.

Are you planning to write your own CD burning program ? I am a C++ programmer experienced in windows development with microsoft's Visual C++. Tell me if you need any help.

Not for Windows, AFAIK. You might as well shell out the cash for Nero 5

It's not as versatile as stand-alone programs.

Frontend for the windows port of CDrecord (includes cdrecord). You need to get wnaspi32.dll and put it in the folder you installed it into. I spent ages trying to get it to work without this, since I did not read the bottom of t he page.
Get the DLL at:
http://www.goldenhawk.com/download_body.htm or
http://www.nu2.nu/aspi/#2
Not user friendly, but at least it's a GUI.
EDIT: Nevermind, it's not open source. It's still free though (the author might be violating GPL by not distributing cdrecord source though, but you can get that elsewhere).
One could also run cygwin/X11/cdrecord + X based frontend like X-CD-Roast.

Nah, I'd rather just get a demo program, Nero has the annoying problem of not working on XP with this particular recorder, I only need to do a few CD's anyway.

Nothing like that no, just wanted a free program I could use.
