I'm thinking of switching from Rogers cable internet to Bell Sympatico but I don't know if there is a disconnection fee or not. Is there?

There isn't a disconnection fee for dropping your cable service; why would there be one for dropping your cable Internet?

For some reason, my father gave me this idea that Rogers would have a disconnection fee for anyone wishing to leave Rogers.

Is he one of those old fogeys whose idea of mischief is purposely spreading misleading info which causes severe inconvenience to whoever he talks to, just for shits and giggles?

If so, LART him. :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

LART: Luser Attitude Readjustment Tool. Baseball Bats and 2x4s are popular.

There is one for downgrading from $50 to $25 a month though.

Situation solved. Internet connection will be cut off on Friday and I'll be back online with Bell Sympatico by next Tuesday.

I strongly suggest a router. They're cheap nowadays, they provide a level of built-in security against intrusion attempts, and they'll eliminate the headache of having to install the shitty Bell Sympatico software on your computer.

I've got a Linksys router but I've had trouble getting it to work right. Right now it is piling dust.
