After You Win Vice City...

Post by Lord Poe »

..Is there anything to do, or see? I now own Vice City as Tommy Vercetti, so.... what now?

BTW, I never actually finished GTA 3. Is the story worth it?

I could never finish the residential district... I think I finally managed to get what's-his-face, the corupt cop to the airport after taking an Inferno down into the subway and driving at max speed, then blasting out of the subway entrance at the airport with like 5 seconds to spare. Insane missions. But I digress. I got Donald Love to disappear, after that I don't think I got much done... too many gangs were hostile to me and that combined with the missions frustrated me enough that I stopped playing it...

I never play the missions. just sit up on the high buildings with a snipe rifle and rocket launcher, and hope for the best.

The ending is pretty funny, especially if you hate Maria Leone.

But to get to it, you have to complete an insanely hard mission. I beat it on pure luck.

The missions aren't nearly as hard on the PC version, of course.

Correction, they're exactly the same missions, just the PC players don't have to wrestle with the PS2 controls to get anything done :P

If it's the same as the PS2 version, when you get 100% complete you get:

- a new outfit
- able to hire two body guard people from the bar in th mansion
- "Apache" is now available at the helipad near the starting hotel as well as the military base.

I never said they changed the missions, just that they are easier to complete on the PC version. Yes, it's from the differences in controls, but that was obvious. ;)

The final mission in GTA 3 really isn't that hard if you know what to do, and have the right equipment (There's a rocket launcher on the roof of one of the houses, and I memorized the location and used it). However, by then it's not very playable in the sense of going around in exploring, since every gang but the Yakuza hates you by then, and you can't go anywhere in the city without getting blown up. It's really more a nuisance if you're in a car, except for the Mafia. It only takes a few of those shotguns to blow up your car with you in it.

Hmm... I might load GTA3 up again, then. I got up to the Donald Love missions too.

BTW, wouldn't it be easy to make expansion packs for Vice city? Just add new missions to the core game?

amusing moment last night. Im set up on the golf course with a snipe rifle, looking at 4 senior citizens kill each other with golfclubs. I go snipe mode, and zoom in.

"eenie, meanie, miney moe. . ." decided that the person on the left would die. he fell under golf clubs, and got a head shot. so I did it again.

"eenie, meanie, miney-" -click- "oops."

my buddy laughed for the next 10 minutes.

It's pretty easy if you can get a Rhino.
