When I DCC to someone, the connection terminates after a short idling period
How the hell can I keep that from happening?

"Right now we can tell you a report was filed by the family of a 12 year old boy yesterday afternoon alleging Mr. Michael Jackson of criminal activity. A search warrant has been filed and that search is currently taking place. Mr. Jackson has not been charged with any crime. We cannot specifically address the content of the police report as it is confidential information at the present time, however, we can confirm that Mr. Jackson forced the boy to listen to the Howard Stern show and watch the movie Private Parts over and over again."

You're trying to download something, right? If so, after you request the file, the window could say "DCC Chat Session Closed" or something like that, but that just means that the chat session's closed. As long as you keep that window unclosed, your request is still in.Hamel wrote:When I DCC to someone, the connection terminates after a short idling period

Therefore, once it's your turn, the download will start and you won't necessarily have to be in a DCC chat session to start the download. So don't worry.
And if you want to open that session again so that you can check up on sends and queues, just type in the trigger again in the channel window.

Re: mIRC halp needed with DCC
I have a problem with Mirc dcc sending a file to someone, I'll send it then wait there forever while it never downloads for the other person, I wonder if it has something to do with my IP. I have a class C (starts with 192) IP and we have a wireless router connected to the cable modem. A lot of other things work with no problem, like AIM, Paltalk, etc just not that and receiving a connection from someone wanting to play a game with magic workstation.Shinova wrote:You're trying to download something, right? Fserves are so fucking retarded. I just waited 32 hours in a queue, and didn't move up one slot. Other people have been moving up slots. Maybe this is due to the fact that it's fucking impossible to stay connected to the mircx server .
Ya look for something for over half a year, then find out you can only get it on irc through piece of crap fserves
This reinforces my opinion that irc is good for nothing else than idling in channels to impress your friends.

Must be your end or something. I got half of the Scrapped Princess series off of the mircx server in a few days.Hamel wrote:This reinforces my opinion that irc is good for nothing else than idling in channels to impress your friends.

Meh. I suppose finding the right channel and fserve have much to do with it anyway.
Better luck next time.

You need to forward ports on your router or put your computer on the DMZ.Shrykull wrote:I have a problem with Mirc dcc sending a file to someone, I'll send it then wait there forever while it never downloads for the other person, I wonder if it has something to do with my IP.
