The translation may be a bit shaky, as I don't speak norwegian. If you want to look at the original, it can be found here.Itavisen.no wrote:The critically acclaimed PC Game Deus Ex will be made into a movie. The producer is the same man who was behind the upcoming movie Spiderman.
The motion pictures company Columbia has announced that they have bought the movie rights to the computer game Deus Ex from the gaming company Eidos Interactive - perhaps most known for their notorious Tomb Raider series.
The movie project is to be lead and produced by Laura Ziskin, whose last project was Spiderman, while Greg Pruss will be responsible for the script.
Terror and atrophy
The movie will mirror the game closely, in which the plot is set in 2052 in a plauge-ridden world on the verge of economical collapse. The hero is JC Denton, a gene- and nano-augmented anti-terrorist, who finds himself in the line of fire of a great international conspiracy.
- There's a fantastic level of ambition and depth to the story of Deus Ex, and JC Denton is an exciting hero, says Ziskin.
Deus Ex will soon be released for the Playstation 2, while a follow-up to the PC game will be launched early next year.
